Appreciate that mate but was wondering with the LTI to Warnock as well as not having any veterans, would we be entitled to three. Just a theory:thumbsu:

I have been thinking the same thing.
I think we might be.

Welcome to the Seniors Joseph, Jacobs & Garlett & later on in the year possibly Michelle :D

Yes, you would be.

The rookies instead of the vets is separate from any LTI that may occur.

So both Freo and Carlton could conceivably have 3 rookies play round 1.

Anyone notice in the Cat's match that Jacobs and Kreuze would be 1st and 3rd man up in around the ground ruck stoppages... interesting tactic - might see the Blues going taller than usual in some matches this year.

Bit like the U18's game at Visy in the wet, when he started in the centre square as an on-baller, was wondering how long it would be until it was tried at senior level ;)

However, you fail to notice that it only brings each of our successive picks down a notch. If we would have drafted Robinson with pick 20 then we would still have pick 40 to use.

Just because we chose players that we rated higher than their eventual draft positions does not mean that there were not others we also rated who were no longer available.

Would be surprised if we didn't pick O'Keeffe at 40 anyway, and then Tiller with the next, and probably Garlett with Tiller's pick ;).

Warnock was free :D:D:thumbsu:

Not true.

Given that the bloke we would have taken at pick 24 was still there for us to take at pick 40, why the disgust?

The other clubs inability to see the talent that is Mitch Robinson has effectively handed Warnock to us for near nothing. Disgusted? Hardly.

Exactly, only fear is having the money to pay our young players in a few years when Warnock is still getting big money.

l think your point is valid as Warnock did not come to Carlton cheaply, he is most likely on a good sized contract and there would have to be a fair degree of concern on this one, the jury is still out until firstly can he have a sustained period of being injury free and secondly getting some quality performances on the board.

Freo's won a trade hey? :thumbsu:

By the way, Anthony >>>>>>>>> Robinson.
Carlton >>> Fremantle.

We'll prove it when our kids smash your kids this weekend.

You have to say that Jacobs is a (moon) shoe in for elevation now. What is the situation with rookie listed players when the LTI player is ready for return, do they go back down? or can they stay and another elevated rookie demoted back to rookie, for example Jacobs comes up from LTI in place of Warnock. Joseph also comes up as a nominted rookie. Warnock is ready to resume, but Jacobs is ripping it up so Joseph is demoted back. Does it work that way or if Jacobs comes up for Warnock he must go down again if Warnock comes back?

If Warnock is out a while concievably we could elevate 3 rookies now (1 LTI, 2 nominated) and another after rd 11, so Garlett, Joseph, Jacobs now and Pfieffer after rd11 (I cant see Pfeiffer getting promoted early as he has not played much pre season footy, he may even be injured.

I think the answer would be in the terminology here.

Warnock is placed on the long term injury list making space for a rookie to be elevated to the senior list. Would make the most sense for Jacobs to be elevated in his place as they are both ruckmen.

Because we have no veterans we are able to nominate 2 rookies ie. they remain rookies (and are not elevated to the senior list) but are eligible to be selected to play for Carlton each week.

As such, I imagine if Warnock is ready to play, Jacobs would then have to be moved back to the rookie list to make way for him on the senior list.

I'm not sure if we would then be able to give Jacobs the nominated roookie status in place of one of the other rookies, but it would not be an issue for very long as Warnock will be on the LTI until at least round 8 or so, only a few weeks before we are able to nominate a third rookie to be eligible to play senior games.

I am a little concerned, because it was only a few weeks back the club were saying he might be ready for Round 1. So based on that one could think that things have gone a bit pear shaped in recent weeks.

Nic Suban sends his regards

Who? I remember how Freo insisted on pick #6 for Warnock during trade week. We said no, and Freo blinked. And the Blues got Robinson with pick 40 instead of 24. Guess that means we got Warnock for free doesn't it, although I admit we were extremely lucky to get Robinson. :)

Ah geez, this fantastic trade just keeps on giving doens't it. Never liked it, but that's just my opinion (and all the talk at the time that we were going to play him big dollars is even more worrying)

For your own sake Warnock, I hope you get better soon.

No, because I'd seen Kreuzer play, and I knew he would be something special.

Nicholas Heyne will perform better than Warnock.
Is that all? One maybe? Sounds like all piss and wind to me.
Apart from maybe one diamond in the rough.......a random roughy......I'll bet none of them do what Warnock will in the next 2-3 years.
Oops.:o
Comprehension
Needs some work I think.;)
