Cain Ackland was stronger player just too short to Ruck. The club really really needs to trade him no second thought about it. Richmond haven't got any Key talls maybe Alex Rance. We should maybe target midfield/forward
Brett Deledio if we can as Riewoldt won't leave.
This is getting embarrassing for you now. :o

Hampson any day of the week actually looks like he wants to be out on the ground when he plays. when the marks are sticking as they were before the knee he was one of our most important players

Hampson seem's to show form for a couple of games and then drops of again. Clunks a couple then the next week misses them all. Same as Warnock really. Hampson is also really injury prone same as Warnock again. They are both equal value to our club and to decide between either would be like splitting hairs. Whoever we can get the best offer for should go. I would prefer to keep them both though!

Keep both - with injury we might get a full season out of the combo: just hope they don't get injured at the same time!

Hampson for sure. Warnock is 99% of the time the biggest guy on the ground yet he struggles to use his height effectively. After watching him the last few weeks it's hard to see him getting the nod over Hammer.

Delusional. Was excellent yesterday. Played a lot harder, contested well a d should have kicked 3 goals. How often have you seen Hammer tap a ball down someones throat?

Interesting reading this, I had heard we were interested in Hampson and came to the Carlton board to get a better idea of how he was rated. I always thought he wasn't rated that highly amongst Blues fans as the knock on him was that he dropped a lot of easy marks and so forth. Quite suprised that when given the choice many would take him before Warnock. Makes me feel a little better towards our interest in him.

23 year old, good sized, mobile ruck with a bit of mongrel. Sounds okay to me.

If you don't mind me asking what are his biggest strengths/flaws as a player?

And if the Tiges were interested, realistically what would we have to offer to get the deal done?

This just shows how little some people know about footy, and how often their attention is drawn to something shiny.

Hampson's best attribute is his athleticism. He is a very average ruckman, rarely hitting out to advantage. Is essentially useless around the ground, and loses his opponent regularly. Is a very poor kick, and rarely takes a grab.

Saying this, he looked to improve before he got hurt, but only played two serviceable games. People are just excited because he runs fast, can jump high, and his well built. Is not yet a footballer.

People are cold on Warnock because he has been fairly soft recently. Has obviously made an effort to rectify this. Warnock is less athletic, and not as strong, but regularly beats his opponent in the ruck, hit to advantage often, is usually a good kick and is hot and cold around the ground.

Warnock needs 3 more seasons to put on another 10-15 kgs and he will be one of the leading ruckmen in the league. He was significantly harder yesterday, and dominated (arguably) the second best ruck setup in the league.

In that time, Hampson will still likely be a project player. He will still run really fast, and jump really high though.

When Warnock is injured = Hampson is no good and Warnock is a superstar that were dearly missing.

IMO Warnock is the man for the job.

Wow, really surprised by the poll results here.

I missed Hampson's two good games this year...they must have been incredible.

I still have Warnock's 8 good games ahead of Hampson's two good games and his ability to run very fast.

Hammer struggles with game sense, positioning, decision-making and generally all those things you'd expect a guy who didn't play footy until he was 16 would be deficient in.

However, he is a super athlete who at 6'7 can run down mids and jump tall buildings in a single bound - could literally be anything. His ruckwork generally and taps to advantage have improved in the past year or so.

As far as a trade i really don't think you've got anything we'd want (outside your 'untouchables'). Would really take your 1st rounder or a 3-way delivering a KP talent like McKernan or Trengove to us. ;)

Yeah always fascinates me how injured players grow in importance.

Has this poll been doctored?
Do we really think it a 2:1 in favour of Hampson?

Warnock could do with a little more anger injected into his game, but if he brought the form he showed us against Collingwood every week, I don't think we'd be seeing this poll.

Having said that, if Hampson is willing to work hard enough to get him the jump on Warnock, then all is good.

Warnock was awful against the Pies. I still fail to see what anybody at all saw in that performance. Aside from the hit outs he did more good for the Pies than he did for us.

His inability to mark cost us quite a lot. I lost count at how many times he had what should have been solid marks turn into rebound scoring opportunities for the Pies.

Hampson by the length of the Flemington straight.

Used to be a huge criticiser of Hampson, but his form before getting injured changed my mind completely. Would prefer neither to go in case we get a situation again next year like this year where one of them is injured.

I think the biggest difference in my mind that has swayed me hampsons way is that he actually contest. Too often, particularly from kick ins, we will go long to Warnock to see him not mark the ball in contests against smaller opponents. But thats not even the worst of it, he does not have the physical presence to bring the ball to ground in these situations.

Neither player should really be streets ahead in this poll, and Hampson's votes are largely reliant on pre injury form being continued when he returns.

Hampson - At least we get to see more of Megan Gale at the games ! :D

You are a spud.

Warnock has been in the top 5 last two weeks. Might let Hampson tie his boots, if lucky.

Hope all you Hampson voters are ashamed.

(Hammer is a good 3rd ruck, and will never amount to any more.)
