With talk of Hampson being wanted by other clubs (Richmond/GWS) & Warnock being criticized by some for his ability around the ground besides tap work.

If one has to go at seasons end, who would you want to stay at Carlton?

Hard one.

The reactionary in me picked hammer before thinking. Warnock's tap work is hugely important to us. But Hampson could be anything. Based on past few months for I would rather Hampson, just

It changes. Based on the fact he started holding his marks before getting injured, Hampson.

However Warnock was in good form towards the end of last year and we all thought he would go on with it.

At the moment, Hampson. He was showing a bit more desperation for his spot when fit and working harder as a result. However, if Robbie can work on erasing the flaws in his game, I'd rather him in.

Hampson seem's to show form for a couple of games and then drops of again. Clunks a couple then the next week misses them all. Same as Warnock really. Hampson is also really injury prone same as Warnock again. They are both equal value to our club and to decide between either would be like splitting hairs. Whoever we can get the best offer for should go. I would prefer to keep them both though!

Hampson.
Him and kruezer would make the most athletic ruck combo in the league. The way the game is changing, players who are athletic and can play multiple positions will be the most valuable. In this sense Hampson is far and above warnock!

Im not comparing Warnock to Mark Blake, but all im saying is these sort of not very athletic tap specialist ruckman will become extinct i suspect in the next couple of years.

Like we can afford to lose a ruckman. There'll always be one injured or out of form so any of the three will get opportunities.

..agreed, the Krooz is still coming back from the ACL, which can take a year to rehab and another year to get back to top form.. ..and it's rare for a ruckman to last all season so you need 3 good rucks and another developing..

To answer the question of the thread, Hampson.

Warnock hasn't been the same since the Cats game, lacks urgency and isn't hard enough and is easily moved out the way, Hammer before the injury had 2 really promising games, gave us a taste for what could be.

One might think if Hammer wasn't injured would we this week play both 206 & Hammer and Big K up forward?

From a club point of view keep both, each club needs 3 ruckmen for injury and form issues.

Better mark = Warnock
Better kick = Warnock
Better handball = Warnock
Wins more hitouts = Warnock
Better accuracy in front of goal = Warnock
Greater number of disposals = Warnock
Better footy awareness - Warnock
Speed / Endurance = Hampson
Potential = Hampson

I dont even understand how this is a topical issue

Agreed.

Footballer > Athlete

Hampson has 2 good games and all his previous incompetence is forgotten by people on this board. If this thread was made before that, this thread would have been deemed as a troll thread.

nah iv always thought warnock is as soft as butter, he is an empty carlton jumper every week the MC dont see this

only my opinion of coarse curnowed :)

With the sub rule I think it kills a pure tap ruck which is what Warnock is. He isn't quite good enough in other facets of the game, doesn't possess the versatility, doesn't do enough other things in comparison to Hammer.

Hammer's ability to do a bit of everything and the potential to do a lot of things extremely well sets him apart as the better long term prospect.

Do I want to lose either of them? No sir.

Warnock is a better ruckman but hammer is a far better player around the ground. It depends if you want a general who has NO influence around the ground, or an athletic ruck\forward who cant mark to save himslef!!!!!

On pre injury from I would say hampson just, cause kruz will become a ruck general not a foward/ruck

Sometimes Warnock reminds me of Cain Ackland.
Cain Ackland was stronger player just too short to Ruck. The club really really needs to trade him no second thought about it. Richmond haven't got any Key talls maybe Alex Rance. We should maybe target midfield/forward
Brett Deledio if we can as Riewoldt won't leave.
