Its fair enough he has asked for a trade.

I think it should be a win win for both parties. I can hear people crying out what happens if one of our key back go down but he would get a game in a few other teams so you cant blame him for wanting more opportunities

Really sad about this, like Warnock a lot but I can understand why he wants to be traded. Hope we can get something good for him, who knows Richmond may give us their first rounder for him...they have a history of making poor choices come draft time! ;-)

I dunno if Bailey gave him the opportunities that he probably should have. There have been weeks where Jared Rivers has been absolutely shithouse and I think Warnock should have at least got a go.

If he wants out, good luck to him.

I agree & I think he could see there was no future for him at the Dees, so I have no issues with him going.

I htink he has announced it rather than getting delisted which has some stigma attached with it.

Good luck to him.

Warnock wants a trade does he? Can't wait to see this chip packet play for us.

I think someone like Richmond may rookie him like they did with Miller but the days of being able to trade him are long gone. It should have been done last year.

Warnock got his chance against the Bombers in round 14 or whenever it was. When he put down that very basic chest mark in the back-line which cost us a goal I knew he was finished for us. It was just so microcosmic of his entire career. Turnover after turnover, mistake after mistake and so on.

The reality is that he's too undersized to play on the gorillas and not skillful enough to provide any rebound or be the third man up, ala Rivers and MacDonald.

Would be pleased if GWS offered us a third rounder for him.

Thats rubbish, you dont have to like the bloke, but he did a fine job on Dawes, Lynch, Roughead, Cloke and the resting ruckmen all the time

He just couldnt kick/handball
But One on One he is a better defender than Rivers... Will make a solid fullback in a side that has quality kickers around him

I don't really remember that moment, tbh. So are we holding Garland (particularly after his effort yesterday?), Rivers (some of his F'ups have been pretty shocking, add to that his attitude to others some times blaming others for his stuff ups) and, heaven forbid, Frawley to the same account?

All I've heard and read is how he has been working hard at VFL level. I don't claim to be a doyen on the team and its list management but I think he's been harshly done by, not getting more opportunities.

EDIT: NickGrant is right, regardless of his size, he is/was a decent one on one player. If there's one thing going for him it's that Simon Prestigiacomo etched out a pretty good career by shutting down his opponent and not really racking up possessions.

As much as some people have their head in the sand on these issues

Warnock, Bate, Dunn, Bartram, Jetta, Bennell, Maric are treated far harsher than Rivers, Sylvia, Davey, Moloney, Green for poor performances

We have double standards in our selection , and whilst Warnock probably isnt good enough, there is no doubt he has been grilled for little mistakes that Rivers is excused for

It was against Carlton, and it combined with numerous other clangers resulted in him being the first (and probably last) ever full back to be subbed off injury free.

He was an absolute liability at AFL level- further exacerbated by being in a backline sans a designated kicker or two. Could usually hold an opponent one on one but that's nowhere near enough these days.

Another one of our many 'dominates VFL but not good enough for AFL' players- how many have we had over the years?

Rivers has a place in the side as the third tall and offers rebound. He isn't a liability.

Garland offers good run, disposal and he can play a defensive role very well too.

Frawley is a gun.

Plain and simply, Warnock is a liability who doesn't offer anything a premiership side needs. He can't dispose to a reasonable level and is often beaten by his direct opponent. It's a complete myth that he's good one-on-one. I would actually implore you to watch some of the vision because if he was any good at that he'd be getting a game.

Just because people disagree with you it doesn't mean they have their 'head in the sand'.

a) Rivers is unfortunately in our leadership group and that's why he will always be selected ahead of a Warnock type
b) Rivers has been routinely torched on these forums and elsewhere for his rubbish form throughout the year
c) So has Davey
d) So has Green
e) Sylvia has been bandied about as trade bait by some and bemoaned as a waste of talent by many
e) Beamer has had very few bad games to moan about

and

f) (the most important one!) the players you listed as being treated 'harsher for a poor performance' than the above are for the most part shite and play worse than the ones you compared them too.

It's not a double standard to call a spade a spade.
