Well we all agree our ruck combination is a bit of a worry, so why not make a play at Warnock?

I believe he would be an unbelievable pick up for us to assist Fraser and Wood. Add him into the side and all of a sudden we have a real presence in the middle, to hopefully tap down to Swan, Pendlebury and Cousins.. I am unsure though to why he's name is just not being brought up by anyone..

The questions is, what can we trade to fremantle for him?

and

Do others think he would be a great pickup?

We Traded Wood for that Last Season, Would be a Nice Pick-Up but I don't think we would trade enough to get him

He may be worth getting, but there are a few question marks surrounding him.

As I understand, he has only played 7 games in 2-3 years, therefore he must be fairly injury prone.

Playing 7 games doesnt prove anything, and as such his talent is basically unknown.

In my opinion, not worth a first round draft pick, especially as we gave one away last year for Wood.

I say draft a backup that can take over from Chris Bryan as the 3rd ruck at the club in 2010.

We need to use our first round pick on either an outside midfielder or a key back, as a lack of quality ruckmen is not the only issue we have.

We need a strong bodied tap ruckman, not another skinny athletic devloping ruckman. Plus he will command a first round draft pick. I would throw up if we wasted another first round draft pick on another fringe ruckman.
Hopefully Wood turns out to be as good as we expect him to be.
Personally i would have picked up Steven King for pick 95 last year and either held onto pick 14 or used it to get Marty Mattner or Hudson etc

Have faith in Wood. He will turn out alright.

Warnock hasn't shown anything to suggest he will be a dominant ruckman either.

He has played 21 games in 3 years.

His first year he was a 206cm / 75kg string bean and was too small to play AFL. This year he had surgery pre-season and didnt really get fit to about half way through the year. Connolly recruited him but really didnt give him much chances until Sandilands hurt his groin. I am spewing he is leaving. I reckon he is just about to hit his straps as his body starts to mature. Huge upside with this kid and could be in the top 5 ruckman in the comp in a couple of years. Typical :(

Whoever gets him wont regret it in time.

Do you have any Highlight Vids of him to Watch?

I was a fan of getting Warnock last year above Wood but even then I think the differences in the two in terms of upside will be minimal.

FWIW I prefered Warnock as he plays with with a lil bit more physicality and aggression around stoppages despite his build.

I think the advantages Wood has over Warnock is his overhead contested marking is superb and I think he will find it a bit easier to put on weight. FWIW I think both will cost around the same to acquire I.E first round draft pick, and both will be similar types of ruckmen. I am glad we took Wood as we traded out of a week draft and think we will get a better player with our first rounder this year then we would have last year.

Agreed With Drafting out of a Weak Draft Last year for Wood and Keeping 1 this Year where the Depth is a lot Better

Warnock cannot take a one grab mark. You watch him, he's a juggler.

I know he is tall but he has never been an elite player at any level of football he has played. He's 6' 9" and I suppose they are rare, but i wouldn't spend big dollars on him.

he's a similar prospect to Wood, but he is danger of being 'Frasered' if Carlton pick him up and ruck him solo with his lean frame.

Long term, I think him and Wood are similar prospects

Agree in the Long Term that will be Both Be Stars:thumbsu:

The only thing that worries me about Wood is the possibility that he might want to go home at some stage. I think he has the ability to make the grade, But concerned with regards to his commitment to the Pies. If he came out and stated that the Pies is where he wants to be, then I have no issues, and the Kid needs to Play alonside Josh for the rest of the year, and Bryan being used as the third ruck, or the "Horses for Courses" ruck, or used as our stop gap measure all over the park.
