I like Hampson, but it's a laugh if you think Hammer is going to take the marks you're bagging Warnock for dropping.
Even Kreuzer was failing to hold his marks last night.
Voice of reason, good post.We always thought Warnock was lazy, but it's a fact that the huge 200+cm ruckmen take time to develop.
(this i think was Freo's logic in picking up Kepler Bradley)
Sandilands only started to stick marks last year, at age 26, and he still drops a lot that he should take.
Sandi has 123 games experience, and for a long time centre-bounce taps were all he was good for, and it has been well documented that his taps rarely went to advantage back then.
Freo put a few pre-seasons into Warnock, and 25 games experience, but it'll take a while yet before he steps up IMHO.
Personally, I'm pissed that Warnock left us. His height and agility are enormous attributes and given a few years on the park I reckon he'll be a gun.
Has Warnock had a full pre-season and run of games to get fully match fit and gain some touch? Why?

Warnock to Bullants and bring back Hampson.
I'm all for giving Warnock time ... but, I think last night showed us that we need someone who's a little more "AFL ready". In the first 2 rounds it was covered by the fact that Kreuzer was doing so well. But last night showed that Warnock isn't ready to step up and fill the hole when Kreuzer is having an off night.
I think Jacobs showed more in the early games that he played last year, so you'd have to think that he is more ready than Warnock at this stage.
I fully expect Warnock to step up eventually, but he couldn't feel like he's been hard done by with the club showing faith in him for the first 3 rounds. Surely he'd understand (and perhaps even be happy with) being asked to go back to the 2's to gain some confidence.
What's the point of having 3 No. 2 ruckmen if you aren't going to rotate them through the seniors to inspire one another to better things?
We can't rotate three no. 2 ruckmen if Hampson is injured. What's the point of having 3 No. 2 ruckmen if you aren't going to rotate them through the seniors to inspire one another to better things?
Some of you blokes should really watch the replay.
He didn't hesitate to throw the body in.
He works so hard, harder than our smalls, and therefore is always recieving it when other players should. It's not his fault he's one of the few working for position. Then we curse at him when his disposal lets the team down. No-one would bother running behind for the handball either.
He was still content to get on his knees and do the dirty work in the absence of our inside mids.
Fair enough needs to get his marking in check, a bit more spring into his legs as well.
But for two years out of the game with stress fractures and the like.
Stick with him.
