Was Chick driving erratically too???

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

The WA Police have stated the car Cousins was in was stopped because of "erratic driving".

No reason however has been offered for why the car Chick was in was pulled over.

The "erratic driving" excuse appears now to be merely a cover story for a bungled attempt at a sting operation involving a frenetic 2 hr car search desperately trying to find something to hang the man with.

WAPS and more specifically the Organised Crime Squad - hang your heads in shame if you have lied to the public. Oh & you might want to use your seatbelts next time boys. Not a good example to the general public who pay many thoudands of dollars in fines each year for doing the same thing.
maybe it was the drug dealer in the car with chick that they were interested in. your attitude of it must be someone elses fault and head in the sand is the exact same attitude your club has taken over the years.
you reap what you sow.

Who else finds it unusual that the traces of ecstacy and cocaine found on the $20 note were not considered sufficient grounds for proceeding with the charges?

If police start being able to charge for that sort of thing you should be very, very worried. Traces are just that, they last forever unless the note has been chemically cleaned. I've heard esimates as high as 95% for what percentage of notes in the USA would show traces of illicit drugs. The only way that could be evidence of any form is if the police had video evidence showing someone snorting or chopping a drug off the note, where the serial # of the note was visible, and then they were pulled over and it was proven what drug was involved. Otherwise that piece of information is as useful as a **** flavoured lollipop.

Well just connecting the dots......

- Chick, Cuz and associates meet n northbridge
- They go there seperate ways and get pulled over
- Chick has a dealer in his car with a range of illegal drugs and implements to take drugs
- Cuz has a range of "legal" drugs and a bag of cash

Horribly picked on they were.

Just back on Cousins' car for a minute. Who else finds it unusual that the traces of ecstacy and cocaine found on the $20 note were not considered sufficient grounds for proceeding with the charges? The $20 note was not in Cuzzy's possession at the time but that hardly counts as an excuse, does it? Would it have been different if he was the only one in the car? Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. :thumbsu:
Maybe they should've charged the girl in the car who owned it. Let's be realistic. Money changes hands 100s of times. Those traces could be anyone's.

Agree. Either Cuzzy is as guilty as they come or an incredibly unlucky victim of many circumstances....go figure!

Drugs, is that good enough reason for you?

So if we agree on the KNOWN facts that the Police gave as their reason for pulling the car Cousins was in as 'erratic driving' whilst not offering an excuse for pulling Chick's car over. If we now assume your insight that the reason Chick's was pulled over was "drugs". What you are saying then is that it was only Chick's car that was part of a sting, after constant surveillance led them to believe drugs would be found in the car?

I have merely made an observation that the police initially gave a reason as to why they pulled the car Cousins was in over, whilst not giving a reason for pulling the other car over, at a separate location. I think once it gets to court it will come out that it was a sting operation. How is that defending Cousins? The fact that the Police may have fed mistruths to the media speaks ill of them, but it doesn't mean it speaks good of Cousins.

So you're agreeing with me that the "driving erratically" story they fed the media is probably BS then? If you read my original post that's all I'm saying.

I always feel like I am repeating myself

He isn't guilty as he has yet to be proven so in court.

Given all these allegations and innuendo - and how wrecked he is and Major Crime on his tail - you wouldn't think it would be that hard to make a charge stick on a junkie.

yes he is a twit, no he doesn't deserve to play footy anymore - but he deserves the freedom that we all enjoy - presumption of innocence

There are some deluded people on here. Ben and Daniel were stopped by police, just like any of us could be tomorrow. They found things in both cars that houldnt of been there and as such arrested them both.

News Flash if they had nothing on them, or were not hanging around people dodgy enough to be under survailence then nothing would of happened.

How many of you have been pulled over and arrested lately? I was stopped for an RBT and license check 3 days ago and noone arrested me.

You dont have to be driving 'eratically' to be pulled over so who really cares.

Next time you and a mate are pulled over simultaneously at separate locations and police tell you with a straight face "We pulled you over because you were driving erratically" tell us how credulous they are then.

You dont have to be driving 'eratically' to be pulled over ...

I don't think anyone has said otherwise, so your point is irrelevant.

so who really cares.

I do. If the police who are supposedly servants of the public have lied to that same public, it's disgraceful.

What of the West Coast administrators & players who have lied to the members of the club? For handing over their hard earned, members deserve a bit of accountability & integrity from those running & playing for the club. It would appear the police have perhaps dropped the ball on this one, but only after they picked the ball up following it being dropped several times by the West Coast Eagles Football Club. Surely the role of certain administrators in perhaps covering up some of what has been going on should be questioned by the members. This is even more disgraceful then anything the police have done in relation to Eagles' players.

Whether all of what you have said is true or untrue, there are other threads that discuss those issues. This thread is focussed on one issue clearly outlined in my original post. Why it's an issue that so many (including yourself) want to steer away from escapes me.

. Why it's an issue that so many (including yourself) want to steer away from escapes me.

The answer is simple, because it is not an issue to me or most of the posters in your thread, you seem to want to make an issue out of it, the fact of the matter is the Police did their job, and I am happy about that, they recovered drugs based on the information gained after pulling both parties over so WE ALL WIN.

You and your mates are not going to be pulled over simultaneously for 'erratic' driving because you are not mixing with known drug dealers.

Why you are trying so hard to deflect from the real issues is beyond me and most people here.

Erratic or not, doesnt matter as i stated earlier which you rejected, you dont have to be driving in any untoward manner to be stopped- you keep pushing this stupid argument and whats next 'how do you define erratic driving'?

If it's not an issue to you why continually post here?

Why you are trying so hard to deflect from the real issues is beyond me and most people here.

Starting a thread on one aspect of this whole episode is deflecting from the other issues is it? There are plenty of threads discussing the other aspects (several of which I've participated in) and yet you want to change this thread into another one of them. THAT'S deflection. Keep on track, i.e. stay with the issue I raised or

Solid argument..

I wasn't aware you were only allowed to express your opinion if you agree with the OP.

My issue is with people who are trying to find reasons to hide from the simplicity of scenario.

My OP says the police should be ashamed if they lied and it's the crux of my original post. You disagree with my OP. So you think police should lie? Great argument.

Firstly you are arguing a point to which you dont know the answer- 'if they lied'.

Secondly it is at their discretion to decide who they wish to pull over and who is driving erratically, so why you are getting so uptight about something you dont know to be true or not is amusing.

Thirdly you are drawing a long bow in saying I am arguing Police should lie.

I am not sure if you are a Benny fan desperately trying to find a reason to be upset about the situation he got himself into.

Or you just don't like the Police but IMO your way off, more important things to worry about than your OP.

Firstly you are arguing a point to which you dont know the answer- 'if they lied'.

The answer to my question AT THIS STAGE is uncertain. Does that mean it can't be discussed? The last thread you started was based on a question that is uncertain too. It doesn't mean I would ever argue you can't discuss it.

...more important things to worry about than your OP

No argument there. I wasn't aware I was entering a 'Most Important Thread' competition. There's more important things to worry about than the majority of stuff discussed on bigfooty, including the last thread you started, but it's a moot point.

Researching me, thats sweet. :p

I never said you can't argue it.

Just I think it's pointless and is hiding from the real issues.

You will most probably never know the answers to your OP.

You can discuss it all you want and that is what we are currently doing.

I never said you can't argue it.

Thanks. I feel great now that I have official sanction from the thought police.

Just I think it's pointless and is hiding from the real issues.

If it's pointless, what are you doing here? Arguing that it's pointless? I can't think of anything more pointless than that. As to "hiding from the real issues", as I've already said, I've contributed to several other threads which deal with other aspects. Don't believe I'm hiding at all. If you believe I am, why not start a thread that discusses what you believe to be the REAL issues & I'll gladly contribute to it. You could even call it 'The REAL issues'. I'll be looking out for it.

You will most probably never know the answers to your OP.
When it goes back to court, or Cousins sues the Police (as his lawyer has intimated) I believe it will be answered.

You can discuss it all you want and that is what we are currently doing.
Thanks again for your permission to engage in freedom of speech.
