Can you show me where exactly is this new rule written in the AFL Laws of the Game? I bet you will spend the rest of your life trying to find it.Agreed. Under the new rule and it is a new rule not an interpretation of an old one cos hands in the back has never been the rule its been a push out. But under this rule it was a free kick. However the rule is a blight on the game. As a backmen my self it has and the AFL continues to make our jobs impossible. No wonder we are seeing massive scores kicked this year eg. geelong vs richmond and the brisbane vs carlton matches. Its because defenders are totaly confused as to what they can do these days. Its so stupid, scrap the rule right now!
It's actually irrelevant if there was a push or not.
Were there hands in the back?
Yes.
