Not really. Grant should really have kicked that goal. I understand what they said on TFS today saying that had he been kicking from the goal-line he wouldn't have missed but really, it was a pathetic kick.

Yes, we were..

Lets say the guy on the mark was on the line, if Grant shanked it it would've gone through anyway, But because he was on a slight angle and obviously further out..

the umps were pro north all day including paying a dubious at best 50m penalty to grant....if he cant kick a goal from 10m out directly infront then they didnt deserve to win

Why do we need a poll for this, inside 50, must be on the goal line, thats the rules, a poll implies there are 2 or more possible outcomes, of course the umpire got it wrong according to the rules

Sock puppet poll

And you'll spend the next 50 years in the cellar without your concessions until the AFL realises you need the "handicap" again

No, they missed about 10000000 shots, if they complain to the afl it will be fickle and i will lose respect, build a bridge

North weren't robbed of a victory. Grant should have scored but North shouldn't have choked in the fourth quarter like they did. It's as simple as that. What's more remarkable is that the Kangas choked against the most famous of all chokers, Collingwood.

Nope. Regardless of the poor execution of the 50 metre penalty from the umpire, Grant should have kicked that. He rushed the shot, and as they say, bad kicking is bad football.

Blah blah blah - Leon Davis should have been given a free kick for getting bumped over the shoulder blatantly, but he didn't get one, and the Kangaroos got a goal out of it.

That was a two goal turnaround, so it arguably had a bigger effect on the game.

It's not as though the 50m penalty was after the siren or something - We had the ball for like 2 minutes after the poster. Obviously we would have tried to kick a goal if we had've been behind...

Bad decisions happen throughout the game - The one at the end of the game is no different than the dozens of bad calls that went on during the game.

It was a bad 50 but....... Grant shouldn't miss from 15 out. It's not north or the pues or the umpires fault as much as it is Grant's fault for missing.

There was a 50m penalty that was awarded to the Pies in the third quater that was 42m if it was lucky. Why isn't Laidley whingeing about that?
yeah pretty sure that was after g.archer's routine dummy spit and 50m penalty, was 40m tops also, so perhaps the umpires were consistent with the measruing of the shorter 50m penalty

but because shannon grant tries to be a hero north fans have a whinge, u do realise that sometimes the umpires pay shorter 50's and longer 50's during the game??

when he payed the 50m penalty grant was outside the 50 even tho he marked it inside, so the umpire made a slip up big deal

shannon grant lost north the match, he needs to take a good hard look at himself

Totally different. The Leon Davis decision/non-decision is open to interpretation.

Counting out 50m within a 50m arc is not.

Of course Grant should have kicked the goal but he didn't, and if the man was on the goal line he would have.

Simple.
