Who watched the freo game today? I did and at the end i was watching the dockers sing the song...and it was SO wrong seeing the guy we have affectionately called Muddy for many years singing the Freo song at first with a fair bit of Gusto, he really looked like he was "at home" there, tis a sad thing seeing that:(

Hmm... well If you looked at the coaches box you would noticed he was sitting up the back all by himself. I think he is on the outer of the Melbourne Dees Mafia thing they got goin over there. In any event it's all Ken Judges fault.

I'm sure I saw a chap who used to wear the number 24 for your team, belting out the Carlton song not too long ago.

Players who go into coaching must move around to get more experience, it's just a job to them.

I understand Muddy is a backline coach, seems to be doing ok and getting good progressive results.

tis true, but its still hard to fathom. And believe me it was hard watching that 24 strut around in the horrible excuse for a football jumper:D glad hes back to the right colours now;)

He's doing more than OK - I'm very impressed with the Freo backline. Woods, Hayden, Haddrill, Polak are all coming along in leaps and bounds - I thought they were terrific yesterday, albeit helped by Melbourne's "game plan" of "muck about with the ball for 4 or 5 meaningless possessions, then kick long and pray that Neitz marks or Robertson takes a speccy."

Freo going very well - if it weren't for Croad, Farmer and Waterhouse and a lack of pace in the midfield I'd be even more impressed - in other words, of all the coaches, Muddy's doing the best job down there.:D

Poor bloke, he deserves a medal having to coach Croad, Waterhouse & Farmer! Incidentally, I thought Longmuir was a very reliable target & kick in the second half (all I saw) yesterday. And Sandilands has improved greatly since last year, when I saw him in the WAFL.

After our injured players returned after round 2 and the rainy day in round 3, we have scored the most points in the competition by some distance? Imagine if those 3 start firing.

And yeah, Longmuir was good, 6 second half goals. Jod still thinks he and Tarrant are "average" forwards though. Only 12 goals and 24 marks between them.

I've got a problem with anyone who chants such an aweful song.

Now Freo are getting their footy right surely they need to address some of the other negatives such as club song, guernsey and that pathetic anchor.

That's you view, but I reckon it's quite funny at the moment with Port and Collingwood bitching over who should wear what colours to avoid conflict, that Freo went out and was inovative by getting totally different colours, they are still "abused" for their colours.

As for the anchor, well Freo is a port city, why not an anchor?.

As for the song, some like country and western, some like thrash music, everyone to their own.

Definitely agree with what he did with our backline.
For so long we where very weak in that department, he seems to have done a wonderful job.
We boast all star midfields and all star forward line but by far the most consistent performers and highest acheivers have been our backline.

Yeah, but he doesn't coach the backline. Steven Icke does the backline, Kelly O'Donnell the midfield, and Muddy Waterman the forward line.

My error saying he coached the backline, I did question it when I was told, as Muddy always seemed to be a forward type player.

Anyway he's still doing an ok job.

You could just change the shape of the anchor slightly and it would be a silhouette of one of the greatest icons of the port city. Oh yeah, and put a chip in its mouth.:)

He coached the backline in 2001, his first year with us.

its been noted that one of Woosha's ambitions was to coach his old club after giving up the jumper - Woosh wasn't gonna learn from Judgey was he?
Nor was Woosha GONNA LEARN FROM DAMIAN DRUM
The best option was to learn in Victoria where most of the AFL games are played each round in Melbourne.
Consider this:
Woosha under Parkin a great Blues coach.
Woosha also saw how other coaches did their stuff like Sheedy and Malthouse, the best place to learn was in Victoria not WA.
Even Freo have to admit Connolly did his time in Victoria learning in the heart of AFL footy.

Yes it was painful watching Woosha coach for the Blues but he showed his ability to communicate with players and get the best out of them. Hence we noticed Woosha's potential.

Anyone complaining about potential turning to the real deal?

It's annoying when guys like you Kenny, claim that people are superstars because of one good game. Longmuir played well, does that change the fact that he is an average forward .... no. Tarrant has been turning it on but he has to keep it up all season to lose his average tag.
