I don't quite understand why most of you are so keen to try and rub it in our faces. Care to enlighten me?

I thought both camps generally had a bit of respect going on.

FWIW, I don't think Waters deserved weeks, I sure as hell don't think Hocking deserved any either.

Trouble is that your view wasn't that of the vast majority of your board. I couldn't care what Hocking got - its not going to affect the rest of our season.

There were quite a few bombers supporters saying that Waters is a 'sniper'. Even had one here say he was weak. Then the ones saying that his 'bad record' will get him. He doesnt even have a record.

Just enjoying the continued meltdown.

After all the accusations and abuse that have been dished up against WC fans, players and the AFL over the last few days by bombers supporters, all we really can do is laugh about it.

Had respect for your lot before this week. Just read some of what your fellow supporters have been posting towards us. Yes, crowds are vocal and you're not going to like it. Doesn't make us any worse than any other home crowd.

That's actually a reasonable attitude. My son wanted to go and rub some players face in it after our weekend game, I told him if he did he wouldn't play next week. Why not, he said, he was giving it to us and the umpire all game? I told him those things come back and bite you in the arse so better off not tempting fate.

The problem was EP, there were a few posters from Essendon wishing Waters to get rubbed out, therefore the response.
 
This is a moral victory for the game of AFL!!!

10 years ago this would of not even been reported, so im glad they through this out.

The majority opinion was that Waters went out of his way to hit Watson in the head, and they wanted him crucified. Add to that the fact that it sounds like it was solely the umpires that cost you the match and I think it's only reasonable to take a small level of joy in adding some fuel to that. Makes a great read.

i had my doubts about waters, but glad to see him back!
(and hocking gets a week for doing kerr..i dont know if its fair or justice towards essendon, but it cracks me up..the irony!)
(i read some naasty eagle hatred on essendon board..i also read some very sportsmanlike and level comments...)
 
Essendon fans on Twitter are going ape-shit.

One dude has been calling Waters a sniper (saying he's always been a sniper) in a few posts, and another fails to see the difference between the Waters/Watson incident and the Lloyd/Sewell bump from a few years ago.

Understandable for abusive posts, seen far worse from others. Mine was merely pointing out that Watson kept his head low after gaining posession to draw a free, hence the charge was thrown out.

Even said Hocking was stiff.

Maybe it was the youtube link.

Jesus they're a petty bunch! I've never seen a club's supporters care so much about a tribunal hearing!! They're playing for Heppel's RS and other team's suspensions now...

I wasn't commenting on the individual post (or the Essendon board for that matter), but more of a general warning.

Not all clubs' mods are as welcoming and open to opposition debate as us ;)
