Waverley Park could be saved ???

In today's Hearld-Sun (2/5/2001) there was an artical of a proposed $300 million dollar face lift for Waverley Park, The idea behind this is to turn Waverley Park into a sporting Disney land theme park,

Im interested to know what people out there think about this..

This is exactly the sort of thin the AFL is trying to stamp out.
They don't want leisure facilities in the south east - they want people to get in their cars and travel to the other side of town to watch AFL at twice the price

Pessimistic I would have to agree with you on that one, My personal feelings towards the proprosal for Waverley Park would be a great, great for the people of the east,
I think it would be a fantasic tribute to the late Sir Kennith Luke,
But I wouldn't put it past the AFL,State government and other scum bags like the owners of the docklands and the MCC board to block this from happening,
If Steve bracks has any balls and the person who wants to invest in the proposal actually go ahead with the idea I think it would be the best thing that has happend in the SE since the ground was first built,
