Wayne harmes love of richmond-take that
It talks about Wayne Harmes love and support of the Richmond Football Club, even during his 169 game, 3 premiership career. He describes hating Carlton as a kid and his time playing there as simply employement.

The last paragraph was the best:

"Despite Harmes dislike of what is happening to footy at the elite level he will keep a watchful eye on the MCG next Saturday when Carlton takes on Richmond. Will he be barracking for the Tigers? "Of course", said Harmes. "Richmond is my team. In fact as a kid I despised the Blues. Funny how things turned out isn't it

just a little bit of info:cool:

Well he was one of our recent runners, if you could call what he did was running, i think he was a jogger for us:)

Sounds like he had a falling out with Carlton and its his way of having a dig. As much as I love the Tigers it sounds odd. Very few players would see being part of premiership teams as 'employment'

I couldnt imagine playing in premierships and holding on to the team you barracked for as a kid. You would have your best memories at that club.

Although it is funny how players seem to hold a beef against the team they played with given how ruthless the game can be.

I remember him playing VFA and looking like an old man. In retrospect he could have been in his late twenties.

dude, from the stories i have heard over the years, most of the players at carlton were there for one thing, the cashola that the tankers were prepared to splash around for success.
Whatever happened while they were being paid a motza, was a bonus. ;)

Apparently he was only a block away from been a Richmond player too. He comes into work a fair bit and told me he was just out of the zone for Richmond.
And definitely wasn't our runner. He;s not really in the best shape for that kind of gig.
