Because in an age of team defense, cherry picking those stats mean so much.

The reality is that after 100 games he's no better than the 10 gamer who played half back last year that is currently playing out of position on a wing. Below is the statistical comparison of Nank playing games 5-20 v Milera 100-109. I'm not saying he's terrible or not worthy of being on a list, but surely when his contribution can be matched by a kid with less than 10 games, at 28 years old, you should be very worried about your spot on the list, let alone a spot in the 23.

And if you do even a cursory glance it would be obvious that Collingwood had 1 X multiple goal kicker who had 2 with singles from everyone else

If you go through our games, the best small forward has kicked 2 goals in every game except the Suns, GWS and Collingwood game.

The reality is you have a different view than the majority and that's respected if respect is reciprocated. It's the aforementioned attack that does you no favors.

We all want each member of the 23 to perform.
It's when they don't and keep getting selected, or are selected on some nice GIF highlights and 2-3yr old form ahead of others is what's frustrating.

It just seems redundant to provide 'evidence' when we're all watching the same game...but we knew when the first teams came out Milera was going to get the small forward. They prefer Max on the stronger marking mid/small players now (Toby Greene, Elliott etc.) and Laird doesn't have the pace to go with them.

1st game against Higgins was about average, he got 11 and 2 goals (average 10.2 and 2.8) but they did get 52 I50s and he was their only recognized forward due to injury, so they did try and go through him a lot, isolate forward 50 etc. Milera did a pretty good job.

2nd game against Kako, only 9 touches, got as couple of goals but Bombers kicked 15.

Curtis - averaging 14 and 2.6, got 9 and 2.

Gold Coast don't play a traditional small forward, rotate mids and forwards high up the ground. No obvious opponent.

Stengle 7 touches, no goals. Milera really finding his way now.

Giants - bit of Thomas and Jones, who'd both been in good form. Neither had an impact.

Freo - started on Dudley, got 4 touches and subbed out. Spent time on Switowski, no real impact.

Carlton - no dangerous small forwards and Hinge out, played a more attacking role, was fantastic, got coaches votes.

You get the idea...

Did you ever wonder whether your method of engagement impacts how others interact with you? Trying to use a tough upbringing to excuse your own behaviour is pretty weak.
