It just seems redundant to provide 'evidence' when we're all watching the same game...but we knew when the first teams came out Milera was going to get the small forward. They prefer Max on the stronger marking mid/small players now (Toby Greene, Elliott etc.) and Laird doesn't have the pace to go with them.

1st game against Higgins was about average, he got 11 and 2 goals (average 10.2 and 2.8) but they did get 52 I50s and he was their only recognized forward due to injury, so they did try and go through him a lot, isolate forward 50 etc. Milera did a pretty good job.

2nd game against Kako, only 9 touches, got as couple of goals but Bombers kicked 15.

Curtis - averaging 14 and 2.6, got 9 and 2.

Gold Coast don't play a traditional small forward, rotate mids and forwards high up the ground. No obvious opponent.

Stengle 7 touches, no goals. Milera really finding his way now.

Giants - bit of Thomas and Jones, who'd both been in good form. Neither had an impact.

Freo - started on Dudley, got 4 touches and subbed out. Spent time on Switowski, no real impact.

Carlton - no dangerous small forwards and Hinge out, played a more attacking role, was fantastic, got coaches votes.

You get the idea...
Don't worry, you're not the only one that thinks he's been ok, has he hit the heights we thought he would pre-injury run, no. But he certainly isn't in the doghouse either, couple of clangers but no orphan. been mostly solid. There are other players I'd be worried about (looking at you Laird) before Junior. The only issue I have with 3 years is durability is yet to be proven, on field not an issue for mine.

I reckon a heavily games played trigger 1 year + 1 more deal was on the table and those bottom feeder Vic clubs like North and/or Saints have gone and offered him 4 years and the old-Justin Reid ‘avoid bad optics’ personality has reared its head again.

Peter Rohde being his manager probably still has some teal leanings and has leveraged and taken the Crows for a ride twice now, after getting 1 semi decent year out of the last 5 he should be playing for base rates on this deal but won’t be.

Reid once again gives an underperforming senior player another deal worth too much.

Yeah, he's done well at the trade table since Gibbs, but this shit is his big downfall.

Yeah I dont mean to come across that I dont think Wayne is terrible - I do think we could manage him and other players better

Just annoyed at us blinking and giving a contract when there was no impetus to do so

I just hate these extensions which on the surface make no list management sense
