Matera was a bit early for me but from the highlights I've seen surely Cameron is a closer fit as far as having the physical tools to emulate his game.

Milera is more McLeod/Burgoyne loping/make it look easy quick, whereas Matera looked manic in his attack on the ball and powerful movement.

I believe that will improve with fitness and experience. Its always been CEY problem at AFL level. Second efforts, gut running and 1%ers are just not in his language and its what has held him back.

The sad thing is, this sums up Thommo for the last three years yet he's played pretty much every game over that time.

Well, the first two highlights shown I've seen Milera come very close too. First being his left foot goal after a clean pick up against the Gold Coast and the second when he made Chaplin and another tiger look like fools before lacing out Tex.

I'd say he is more Mcleod than Matera, but if he turns out to be some where between the two in the "Milera" mould, I'll be a happy man.

23 disposals 5 marks and a goal today against the premier favourites. Would've been 2 goals if he was paid for having his head ripped off in the goal square at one point.

Only bettered by Atkins among our outside brigade (19 disposals, 5 marks and 3 goals). Although the rat is becoming an in/out mid before our eyes.

Great signs from young Milera. Definitely building nicely from his first year when he averaged 11 disposals. Got a gem in the making on our hands

next step for Milera will be to start taking the lower percentage options with that beautiful kick, start working towards matching Atkins for hurt factor.
Quite similar trajectories except that Atkins has been on the list for 5 years and didn't break into the side until his 3rd year. The rat's debut year was almost identical to Milera's though.

When Milera has had 30+ games too he will be a serious weapon. At 5 years the Burgoyne comparisons will start to become reality.

He's an investment we have to persist with. With experience and confidence he'll build into a destructive finisher.

Still needs that constructive feedback that most young players need as once he builds a defensive side will be a gun, still looks vulnerable when he's on the wing and his opponent gets possession and got hurt going the other way in the first half, also hesitated and stepped away from a couple of ground ball contests but he's still very young so hopefully as his body gets stronger & with more experience he'll straight line the ball better and he'll gather & break away with it.

Still eligible for Rising Star

SPP will likely get the nom this week, but Milera will get his go.

19 and 2 goals vs 23 and 1 goal and both named 5th best. I think it might be close. But given that Port got the upset and SPP is new I think you'll probably be right.

Marchbank, McGrath, Butler all had good games too.

If he keeps up his attack on the contest and silk he'll get a nom sooner rather than later. Regardless, just loved seeing his improvement from last year.

Let's just hope everyone doesn't turn around and jump down his throat when inconsistency strikes.

A brilliant performance from him today, but he's still young and probably won't be up to providing that week in and week out just yet.

But boy oh boy do we have a player on our hands here. Silky smooth this kid is.

I see this written about every kid, but i actually can't remember this happening like ever. We're patient when they're young.

What I love about milera is he's got that ability to think through congestion. It's not too dissimilar to rat in that sense.

Actually, I think milera and Atkins are quite similar in a number of ways
