I can't see any other reason for signing him so early (if at all) other than he is being used as bait to entice NWM to the club. If not, we are sticking true to form in signing mediocre players to generous contracts. You’d think we’ve already been told no to lock Milera away so early
The club really hasn't earned this kind of optimistic take on the situation, especially with Milera of all people. "Perhaps they didn't totally **** this up like they did last time".I struggle to get too worked up about this.
It is 100% clear that the club views him as being firmly in our best 22, so a two-year extension was the minimum they were going to offer. Is three years too long? Probably. Oh well. Perhaps the extra year means a bit less money per year?

They aren’t close at all, can’t see how Milera would be a pull vs the connections he has at PortI can't see any other reason for signing him so early (if at all) other than he is being used as bait to entice NWM to the club. Yes all fair but none of those things say "give him three years in Rd 10 of a contract year".Don't worry, you're not the only one that thinks he's been ok, has he hit the heights we thought he would pre-injury run, no. But he certainly isn't in the doghouse either, couple of clangers but no orphan. been mostly solid. There are other players I'd be worried about (looking at you Laird) before Junior. The only issue I have with 3 years is durability is yet to be proven, on field not an issue for mine.
I'm still waiting for him to switch onWow, didnt see that one comming.
How un-Adelaide like.
Watch him switch off now.
On its own no, but the symptom of a much bigger malaise as you are well aware.I struggle to get too worked up about this.

As mentioned we could run Draper through there and not get much change in outputMilera plays the easiest position on the field and we have a plethora of players that could/should be getting a go in that spot.

We have Edwards etc
3 years looks ok as long as the money is relatively cheap and the appropriate options/triggers are in place.
Except the knock on effect, as has been shown countless times before, is that he will continue to get picked. We are very loathe to drop senior players on long contracts.3 years looks ok as long as the money is relatively cheap and the appropriate options/triggers are in place.
And we have 2 first rd half back flankers stuck behind him and Laird.Except the knock on effect, as has been shown countless times before, is that he will continue to get picked. We are very loathe to drop senior players on long contracts.

Speak for yourself lol.The club is a reflection of the supporter base.
And then have to let go of Levers, McGoverns, Camerons, because we can't pay youngsters overs as all our senior players are on overs.Except the knock on effect, as has been shown countless times before, is that he will continue to get picked. Last Saturday he was one of our worst.Gonna go against the grain here by the looks of it and say he's picked up his game to a decent level as the year has gone on. Started poorly as he always does coming back from injury and really shouldn't have been playing in the 1s.
Definitely wouldn't have given him 3 years though. We've had some very good list management in recent times and this is poor. Very injury prone and not a very important player.
It would be greater bait if they let him go and opened up a spot for NWMI can't see any other reason for signing him so early (if at all) other than he is being used as bait to entice NWM to the club. If not, we are sticking true to form in signing mediocre players to generous contracts.
Last time that happened you complained about the result. Imagine doing the same thing again. This club needs to be gutted, so many losers in so many positions.
Milera plays the easiest position on the field and we have a plethora of players that could/should be getting a go in that spot.
Milera is not a youngster finding his feet, he'll be 28 by GF day, he aint getting any better.
A 3 year deal is absolute madness.
We have plenty to delist before Milera. Spots won't be an issue. It would be greater bait if they let him go and opened up a spot for NWM
