The discussion around Wayne’s comment is why I rarely listen to ‘professional’ footy media anymore.

The whole system is so circular and they make it more about themselves than the game, it’s nauseating.

One side says it’s bad the other days don’t apologise, but they never meet in the middle to hold each other accountable.

All about extending the story for dollars, it’s more anti-woke nonsense.
 
In some respects it's the perfect footy media story for 2025. First the comments, then the reaction to the comments, then the reaction to the reaction to the comments and now I think we've made it to the reaction to the reaction to the reaction to the comments.

Of course, by interacting like this i'm making for a further layer of reaction.

The solution is simple, half of all AFL media figures should be purged at random to come somewhere near to the game producing enough content for these pricks to proportionately rattle on about
 
Yes, it is all about media headlines and extending a pretty small story for a whole week to satisfy about a million you tube and tv football shows who all babble on about the same thing. Each show is exactly like every other one.
 
Is there a way for supporters to complain to the club about throwing the players under the bus? I would be so much happier seeing them stick by the players more at least publicly. Same for Rachelle last year

Jimmy Bartel did sort of acknowledge the media's role in this. It's a boys club though, they're never going to get that stuck into each other unless it's a tool like Sam McLure who they don't respect.

If you are WOKE, you have to have a positive word to represent you i.e. the Progressive movement, PRIDE for gays etc. Part of being WOKE is to steal words and change their meaning.

The point is that once you have said something, you can't take it back so there is no point in apologising.
