Bigfooty.comWho says we are trialling Hinge in the midfield?
The fact they are finally going to trial Hinge in the midfield indicates to me the club has realised how dire our midfield problem is.
Part of their planning for this year would have been that Rankine and Rachele would have had a big impact in the midfield which both were unable to do. Time for Plan C.

One of our more reliable sources...Who says we are trialling Hinge in the midfield?
I've heard 2nd hand that Hinge will work in the off-season with the midfield group...
Not a ground breaking rumour if true, but it might articulate that we will back organic growth and flexibility.
The only trade rumour I've heard is J.Steele and I said this a few weeks ago but have not heard jack since.

I still feel both Hinge and Milera could be worked through the midfield as they have the attributes, whether they can put it together is another matter. Both strong over the ball and can defend as well as attack
Hinge with his poor decision making shouldn't be anywhere near the midfield.I still feel both Hinge and Milera could be worked through the midfield as they have the attributes, whether they can put it together is another matter. Both strong over the ball and can defend as well as attack
You try telling Wayne he’s playing elsewhere.Milera will only ever play half back, he has stated he doesn't want to play elsewhere many times in the past. When they asked Nicks where do you think Milera should play year ago, he said well if you ask Wayne its half back.
No current season stats available
That does makes more senseHinge midfield might mean wing more so than stoppage mid, which would make sense. Especially if Curtin becomes more an inside midfielder with stints forward
Milera stays where he is
He was getting there late in the year, but a Hinge shift to a wing and moving Cumming to the other flank (or Edwards), would help him out IMOHappy for Wayne to stay at half back but we need him to be more aggressive with the ball.
I'd like to challenge Milera to increase his number of sprint and bounce statistics next year. It's the same as you said but with a tangible and measurable kpi.Happy for Wayne to stay at half back but we need him to be more aggressive with the ball.
And yet didn’t make the top 10 of our B&FMilera had a really good year. He’s the least of our problems.
You’re not a fan? I thought he started the year slowly but his 2nd half was great. And yet didn’t make the top 10 of our B&F
Next season with a 5th interchange player, we need players who can play through different zones.I still feel both Hinge and Milera could be worked through the midfield as they have the attributes, whether they can put it together is another matter. Both strong over the ball and can defend as well as attack
I like Milera, always have, I didn’t think he should be rushed back in this year though but he did well. You’re not a fan? I thought he started the year slowly but his 2nd half was great.
He gets a high pass from me. If I were to be critical of any defender who I thought had an uncharacteristically poor year I thought Hinge had an average year.
roles and structures.....I like Milera, always have, I didn’t think he should be rushed back in this year though but he did well.
However in comparison to other half back flanks in the comp he doesn’t provide enough run and dash, but that could be how Nicks wants him to play which wouldn’t surprise me.
