I haven't really been watching this second match, but after turned over earlier following the second drop of Litchfield - the commentators mentioned that was the 100th dropped catch this season

That's pathetic and we definitely need to see an improvement

The fielding has been a joke and a laughing stock. Clearly, the ladies don't work as hard in practice fielding, its as simple as that. I do understand the majority of these ladies don't get to play matches under lights , still you have to put in the time.

I don't think the ratio of dropped catches is as bad in the BBL mens comp.

It would be interesting to know the split between drops under lights and those during day matches - Gades fielders have definitely dropped a few during our matches at Junction Oval and those aren't played under lights

Australia used to pride itself on its fielding, but it does feel it's slipped in recent times and we're not necessarily ahead of opposition counties like we were once seen as being

Cant expect to win games in this comp dropping international quality players twice with simple chances, especially a player of Litchfields calibre.

To be fair Sarah Glenn has bowled on point tonight. Figures of 4/16 off 21 balls. Thunder would be well advised just to see her off here.

The drop in the previous over brings the total dropped catches to like 102 or so - with this match not yet finished

We've had action in 34 matches this season, just the one totally abandoned match - that means an average of about 3 dropped catches per match

I hope the players take it upon themselves to improve

I know Brisbane are doing OK, but Charlie Knott as captain has looked a bit lacking in game awareness. eg Dropped catches, bowling dollies, not getting her overs in time as captain.........


Give the captaincy to someone more experienced or with less responsibility I say.

Redmayne should have taken over

There really wasn't much to gain from Knott being the fill in captain with how the Heat's season was panning out, but it could dent some confidence in a young player who hasn't exactly had the best season from a personal perspective

Na I agree with giving it to Knott, Redmayne won’t be ever more than domestic standard whereas Knott might be more. Worth seeing her as a captain

Well Brisbane are going to have to chase a record on this ground as one of the comms said that the highest chase at Drummoyne Oval is 151 runs.

Have to see that late flurry of fans has the Sydney Thunder as favourites right now.

She has been the most disappointing local player in WBBL by the length of the Flemington mile. I said it before, she isnt made for captaincy.

For me its not the captaincy but not sure what the idea is between opening her and having Redmayne at 4

She is the Mitch Marsh equivalent. A see ball, hit ball, kind of player. As soon as you give them too much responsibility- it messes with their head.

Georgia Redmayne as opener last year to be fair , didn't bat as badly as the openers have trialed this year.

With 3 games to go, Brisbane fighting to not be the first winless team and a number of seniors players unavailable, she's walking into a difficult situation where an experienced head may have been a better option
