Adelaide win with 15 balls to spare and 7 wickets in hand against the Sixers. Adelaide never really broke a sweat did they?

Standings after Game 45:

For Sixers to make the Playoffs, they need to win their remaining 2 games - one which includes fixture against Brisbane.

Brisbane need to lose their remaining games (which includes a fixture against Sixers)

Also need to hope Hobart drop at least 1 of their remaining 3 games.

Gotta admit its a tough hill for the Sixers to climb.

Adelaide now are in the box position to finish top spot, with pretty much them having control of their own destiny at the time of writing. However, Perth could lose their next fixture against Adelaide and mathematically still finish on top Spot.

The way the finals in an equal world has been designed is the chances of winning it are

1st spot = 50%
2nd spot = 25%
3rd and 4th spot = 12.5%

So top spot has very big significance.

Big game for Hobart today, win or go home is the scenario for them against the Gades.

Can the Gades wreck another teams finals chances?

Last Sunday morning the sun was out with was barely a cloud in the sky, and what cloud threre was had all but cleared by the opening over

Today, I can't see any inkling of blue sky, the sun hasn't yet made an appearance and complete cloud cover as far as the eye can see - can understand why Villani elected to bowl first

And as we get into the second over the clouds are starting to break up and blue sky increasing - can even see the sun sneaking through

Could well be the case that any potential help from the overhead conditions won't last much longer

Feels like we've learnt nothing from our win the other night and reverted to being shit today - when 2 wickets down early you don't need to take needless second runs which we got lucky with after Matthews dropped her bat

And you don't then take an even more risky single when 3 down in less than 5 overs

The Hurricane's looked switched on and we don't

Our team on paper reads like one that should be performing better than we've shown this season, but it does feel like there's some players in there on past reputation rather than form

No shit this season is a write off - think that was known more than a few games before we were officially out of finals contention, and I'd like to see us just stick with the youngsters and potentially our future these last few matches

Back in Kennedy over these next few matches and see what she can bring - and give her experience in different situations

I know Duffin has done well for us in the past, but not sure what's she bringing this season - I think today is her 11th match of the season, 3 matches she didn't bat and we had the odd match where even our bowlers were the preferred option with the bat. When she has been at the crease, there's only 3 double figure scores but only 1 of those is over 11

Would we get more from the inclusion of Hayward as a bowler, pushing Dooley back up the order and using Wareham to provide some late order hitting - so play the 20yr old rather than the 34yr old

Definitely think differently if in title contention, but with where we're at, selection seems a bit meh at times
