Player of the Match will be a difficult here. Mooney probably gets it with most runs but to me Devine had most impact getting runs faster at crucial stages eg power surge.

How often do we see MOM go to the player with the most runs or wickets, but they didn't necessarily have the biggest impact

Mooney has been critical to this chase which makes the soda they dropped off Mooney even worse

Alot

Think there was a case player with most runs at a much lower strike rate awarded POTM, who scored slightly less runs but at a much better strike rate.

Impact > Quantity I say.

Perths 2nd last home game at the WACA on Sunday, after that they are away for the majority of the campaign (regular season)

Unlike the Melbourne and Sydney teams they have to play a large proportion of their games away from home. The Scorchers only have 5 games out of their 14 at 'home' or in their home state.

Look at the last T20 between Aus & WI

Aus won by 47 runs, scored 190 on the back of McGrath scoring 65 off 34

WI all out for 143 after being mobbed 0-97. The turning point in their innings was Brown getting the wicket of Matthews, to finish with 3/20 plus a run out with her 4 wickets seeing WI slump to 5-104

MOM was Matthews with 79 off 40, and 1/34

I had no issues with Matthews as player of the series, but she wasn't player of the match when your team loses by 47 runs, with a couple of players on the winning team really having an impact on the result

And no surprise Devine got Player of the Match.

I actually forgot her 2 run outs as well tonight....so yep no doubt about who was most impactful tonight.

And Perth fans and Western Australia will be standing 2 feet taller tonight after tonights result:

1st v 2nd on Sunday.

Going to be the battle for Top Position on the standings.

I reckon if you played Adelaide v Perth on Sunday in Prime time, you would have got 35,000 at Perth Stadium. There - I said it.

And we also have the battle for the wooden spoon 7th v 8th in the earlier Sunday game.
Hopefully on Sunday we don't play any more of their batsmen into form - we've got a good habit of helping out of form opposition players find form in matches against us so far this season (or at least that's how it feels)

For you Victorians, whats Casey Fields like as a ground (for those who have been there)? And whats the area like in general? If I gather , Casey Fields is the home of Casey Demons, Melbourne Demons affiliate VFL club?

Jeez that looked plum for LBW, how could that miss? Either way, Thunder get the run out of Lanning with the same ball.

The labelling and timing of the Power Surge in commentary has been poor. Sometimes as viewers we are guessing whether its taken or not.

Im assuming right now Stars have taken Surge in Balls 85-96.
