Darlington could go close to Player of the Match here.

spell of 14/2 off her set of 24 deliveries. And the run out she created as well which ran out the opener.

Stars finish with 123/5 thanks to a couple of late swings of the bat from McKenna.

Advantage Thunder at the change of innings.

Bit of a strange decision I think for the Stars to win the toss and bat 1st at Casey.

Wasn't Meg long considered the premier batsmen (or one of) when chasing, and that her average was higher chasing than setting the score?

I've seen her make some interesting calls over her later stages of her captaincy, going back to the final Stars vs Thunder during covid times - been chasing all season and she decides to bat first in the final, but the team didn't handle the pressure

Just think Casey is one of those grounds, where its tended to be low scoring. But cant take anything away from the Thunder today as a bowling unit. Kapp aside whose radar was a bit off, all bowled really well.

English imports of the Stars all really struggling.

Thunder look like they have nailed their recurits this season

Kapp- all rounder

Knight- experienced head and captain material

Athapaththu- would be the opener in any team right now. And bowls handy spin.

Athapaththu had no Hundred contract, was not selected in the initial WBBL draft.

Some of those recruiters might be having a look at the way they go about recruiting players. Fair play to someone from the Thunder recruitment department for spotting her. Might earn himself a little payrise.

28 runs off the Power surge 1st over. Most lusty bowls from the Sri Lankan.

She is seeing them like a beach ball right now.

They likely looked at her WBBL record from last summer and it wasn't great

But she was playing for the Renegades and we seem to do a good job at turning good recruits into shit 😂

Lauren Bell as “depth” too. Brilliant recruiting about time.
