didn't they say if Adelaide batted first, Canes were automatically done and dusted?
Yes, but it's been an unusually slow season for Wolvaardt. Strikers defend 120 regularly so the claim you need to score much faster than WBBL01 may not be true either. If he said she isn't a T20 batter, then he probably is. Season SR of around 105 was okay in WBBL01, but the game is different today. Her meandering through the first 15/16 overs has probably left 20-25 runs on the field.

A run a ball 40 can easily set up a 160 total Finch/Ludeman style. You also don’t want to rely on defending 140, that’s a high risk strategy. It probably works with every other finals side losing players but you don’t want to be relying on it

Adelaide have a long wait till the next game. Need to have another hit.Not sure if this is a stupid theory but with Adelaide already assured 1st spot, would have been tempted to rest key players and play other players - leave top players back home for grand final in Adelaide.
im gathering South African players wont be there for the Final as well, as South Africa women have a series against Bangladesh.
I'd hope if any of the playing 11 today aren't available for the final that they wouldn't have been playing a dead rubber today.im gathering South African players wont be there for the Final as well, as South Africa women have a series against Bangladesh.

Her WBBL career SR is 108.2 which isn't that much better than her WBBL09 SR of 107.71. She has never been a fast scorer, and I don't think her batting style is suited to T20 cricket, but I was saying that about Ellyse Perry two seasons ago and she changed her game, so I'm not going to say she can't change her game style to suit T20 cricket. She is lucky at the moment she is playing for perhaps the best T20 team in the world and her consistency with bat in hand is what they require more than high SR, and she showed later in the innings that she can lift the run rate if required, perhaps only a few tweaks so the shots that find an infielder find a gap is all that is required.Yes, but it's been an unusually slow season for Wolvaardt.
