carn the eagles, good performance to win by 52 points and go into outright second. now all i can say is...BRING ON ESSENDON!

im sure we will be looking to follow port adelaide's display to uphold interstate pride! lets see how the victorians like it when all the interstate teams dominate the league!

Not a bad win. I thought we should have won by more and took our foot off in the last quarter... Still... Richmond are [or were] 3rd on the ladder and are in good form even with a few out. We will need to improve if we want to beat Essendon next week.

Our boys always lift for Essendon! Its a grudge match, they kicked us out of the finals so lets go hummilate them infront of their rabid fans!
On tonights game, we were fantastic! Tigers are a quality side and to beat them by 52 points is great!

Yeah me too, I thought we could of "really" buried the Tigers but they did well to give us a little fight.

I would of like the Stafford vs Gardiner clash but Vardy vs Gardiner was funny.

Cox stood up when it counted well down Dino.

Kasey Green :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

thats a pretty huge gap our way, oh well we cant complain with everything. a 52 point win still helps boost our percentage even higher for the end of the season.

currently we have the highest points scored and highest percentage in the league! just the way i like to see it! :D

it was shocking to see the umpires continually make errors. but, we sed stuff the umpires with style!!! i reckon we did well to just ignore bad decisions and get on with the game, and not get too frustrated - leave that to the crowd!

We played well tonight, we were there when it counted! I reckon tonight was still well below our best, or what we can really do! But in any case it was still very good! Umpiring was shocking but...

I am still laughing at the comedy which was an Eagles free kick for out of bounds on the full in the 2nd quarter, the Eagles player was about to kick it the wrong way, then once he was told which way they were supposed to be going, he played on and the umpire allowed him to do so, not bringing him back over the mark!!

No wonder Sam Newman goes off at the umpiring standards over here on Triple M radio... they will cost a team a flag one day with their inept over-umpiring and wanting to be a bigger part of the game then they are.

Well done on the 52 point win Eagles. :)

How good was Haynes Tonight? He was amazingly good. Dont see Willow taking his spot, keep him there giving him the experience, when he turns it on he turns it on. Also Matera once again all class, Sampi just "there" when needed, masterful JAKO!!! leading from the front(and generally straight kicks) Gards and Cox all over anyone else in the ruck, Glass battling hard and well with Richo(only had 2 kicked on him himself and he got 1) to IMO take the points against Richo and everyone else(particularly Munro when on the ground) going ape. What a win:) Annoying last quarter but cant complain when you win by 52 points.

I think the umpire signalled the free kick in the wrong direction, so technically he was behind a false mark... so he had the right to play on.

So it was the umpires fault... the bounce was decent this week though.

Very good win but the Tigers were pretty ordinary.
I wasn't particularly impressed (or surprised) at how Richmond came to play. The Melbourne commentators can call it an open forward line, but to me it's a flood designed to drag a better team down to your level and bore them into submission. Every time there was a stoppage in the first half, about 12 of them jumped on the ball.

Now that works well for a while, especially if you catch the other side on the break with long kicks to Richo or some small running forwards can snag a couple, but for four quarters you can't beat PACE and HARD RUNNING and we've got about 12 midfielders with both of them.

Once Woosha had figured this out towards the end of the 2nd quarter, you could see a flogging about to happen. We went in at half time, discussed how to beat the flood and came out and kicked 6 goals straight. With better kicking that would have been 9 straight, with better umpiring Richmond might never have scored again. We played close to 1991 form for a brief spell.

Very good win. Not suggesting the undermanned Tigers could have approached it much differently, but it was great to see us overcome such negativity with such flair.

Firstly, well done to you guys. Haynes (i think) kicked four goals, yea I think hes a really good player. Good to see the footy that was given to the crowd after the match by the Eagles.

Secondly, I thought we played fairly well. Vardy tried all night and its a bit hard when your rucking against two much taller ruckman. Also we had Holland, Ottens, Hall and Stafford out so we had no other option but to ruck Vardy.

Once again well done and keep up the good spirit.

Yes - well done Eagles. Not overly surprised with the result and even with our best team in we would have struggled I believe. I think you fellas can look forward to a very exciting year. I hope we can limp into the 8, cobble together our best side for the finals and give a better showing then.
