Now that our season is over, no doubt everyone will be expecting big things of the young eagles next season. So who do we need to trade and who do we need to get. In my opinion the most important need we have is to get another tall defender, last night Sydney exploited our lack of hieght in defence and to be a force next season this cannot happen again. We also need someone to fill the CHB role. I think Lynch shouldve played more in the backline to get some more experience but with our lack of big prescence players it was probably a good move by Woosha to play him forward. But with lthe likes of Gaspar and Gardiner playing CHF next season as well as some of the young talls bulking up in the preseason (McDougall and Staker need some kilos) I think Quinten can go back and fill the big hole left by Jacko at CHB. Also in the preseason I think we need to work on our goal accuracy alot. During our hot winning streak we were still kicking far too many points but because we were winning it didnt seem as important. Last night we missed a few easy shots in the first when we kicked 2.5 and if we hadve grabbed a few more oppurtunities before the rain came then maybe we coudlve put up more of a fight. So thats my opinonn on what we need to do between now and round1 next season, just wondering what all your thoughts were.

yeah i think it is definetaly time to promote Jaymie Grayham.

Heard some good things about him, and we basically just need more tall defenders in the squad. As i say, even if he is ordinary, we need Carroll around just as a worst case scenario plan.

If we have Glass, Lynch, Hunter, B. Jones, Carroll and Grayham on the senior list, well that isn't too bad IMO. The first 2 are excellent defenders, and the second two are good and versatile - just not quite big enough to take on the really big forwards. While the last two are back ups, and from what i've heard Grayham has aa heap of potential, but is just quite raw at the moment.

We've got the mob to win a flag. We just need to give them a couple of years now.

I agree with those defenders but still thats only 2 good talls. Against a team like Sydney who played Goodes forward and had three quality talls, having just 2 good talls will leave you exposed. Thats why I think we need to target Jonathan Hay or another developed key tall.

I saw Jaymie Graham play today and he looked very impressive. In fact im quite surprised he is yet to get a game. He is tall, quite strong and looks like he is well equiped to play the Centre Half Back role. I think we clearly missed a good centre half forward target last night and i hope the first thing we look for is another Centre Half Forward. Don't listen to what Robert Walls says, our defence did a good job last nite, it was just the forward line that let us down. So really all we have to do is target a decent CHF and we can win the flag within a year or 2.....well thats what im hoping :D

The midfield is great and Wirra, Glass, Hunter and Banners are excellent defenders. Cox is good in the ruck and will improve.

Forward line is the weak point. Stating the obvious, but we need to kick more often and more accurately. Gardi at FF or CHF looks like a good option, plus we've got a lot more height. Matera just needs to find his form again and we'll be set.

I don't think the answer lies in trading. The talent is there, its just the consistency and converting all the opportunities.

I believe that very little needs to be done. We won 13 games this year without our most influential player and without our captain for 5 weeks. We keep the same squad and keep playing hard footy. The kids are coming along extremely well which only compliments the more seasoned players like Wirra, Cuz, Fletch, Morrison, Banners etc.

Were a really good side, made even better by the return of Gardiner. I hope the Eagles big wigs are reading this and if you are, listen to me. Dont touch a thing! We are well and truly on track.

If Gardiner can play well at CHF next year, we can win the flag.
If Jonathon Brown plays at CHF for us next year, we would definately win the flag.
If neither of those two happen, WCE have no chance.

Time for Whoosh to bite the bullet and trade Phil Matera & Cousins while their currency is high.

With 1 goal in 5 finals you will never win one with him in the team.

As soon a Cousins was back in the Midfield went back to their old coughing up the ball habits.

Tough decisions required like Malcolm Blight made when he got rid of A Jarman & Macguiness & Mcdermott.

Deadly serious. Give Juddy the captaincy now.
Ripper

As you well know, there's not a pig's fart in hell chance of either of those players being traded

Is the off-season boring you already, it's way too early for this kind of rediculous speculation...

Spot on Ripper. You're an astute judge of all things football. We should trade our best player, along with the best small forward in the comp.

im looking forward to 2005 already surely we are a big chance of making the top 4 next season and yes it is time to promote Jaymie Graham and possibly even Clancy Ruderforth I know that most of you guys dont think much of Clany but i rate him as a quality player and will be a good player with the eagles shall he be given the chance

What role do you see Rudeforth playing in our team? (serious question) :)
