Richmond is effectively hosting us at our home ground as we have to fly in to where they are

Apparently they’ll be basing themselves in Sydney between games. Whereas we’ll fly back to Perth tomorrow night. So not quite.

Wonder who we miss out on getting back from injury because this?

Should get Oscar and JJK back in any case.

Gov, Shuey, Kelly, Duggan, Witherden were all 3+ weeks as of Tuesday.

Maybe Brander or Ah Chee will be affected.

False. They are going to Sydney and back.

Stop whinging everyone, it's 4 days difference. If our medical staff thought a player would be right for Thursday but not ok for Sunday then I'll have money on them not being right for either game....

I hate attending Thursday night games, so as long as the club gets looked favourably in the remaining fixtures with Friday night v Dees and Saturday night v Saints I'm ok with that. Norf will be locked for Sunday, who wants to watch them?

Richmond played a home game in Sydney last week and we're playing an away game at a neutral venue tomorrow. The idea we're being ****ed over is ridiculous.

The fact it's at 5.20 on a Sunday because the next day is a public holiday in Victoria is a disgrace though

so we now have Tigers next week.
Simple maths showing the league is unbalanced and the teams should be redistributed. It's not a national competition really, it's a glorified VFL, but hey it makes it all the sweeter to take their cup away.

if you think WA can somehow have another 4 teams or Adelaide could have another 2-3 teams then you are dreaming. It is a glorified VFL indeed. Not much you can do about it.

We’re going back to Sydney after tonight’s game then will be travelling back next week for the game
Still think it benefits your blokes more than ours just purely for the fact that it takes away any sort of advantage we might have had. We had nothing to gain from this change and throwing our schedule around is the last thing we need right now. Effectively levelling the playing field which is very convenient for the Tiges.

Probably not much of an issue in isolation but given the fixtures our 2 clubs have played over the past few years I’m fairly annoyed that we’ve been scammed of a nice cushy home game after a bye when we know if roles were reversed there’s not a chance in hell we’d be afforded the same luxury (also see the 2020 fixture where Richmond were a prime Perth hub candidate but many hoops were jumped through to avoid that too).

Cant say it was unexpected though. Many of us knew when the fixture first came out that this particular game was too good to be true and if there was any sort of Covid around at the time, we’d 100% be playing somewhere else or at a different time, at no benefit to us.. and here we are.

We’re being f*cked over because it’s less of an advantage to us than it was previously. It’s still not all in Richmond’s favour but it’s a sh*tload more than it was before, which I have a particular issue with given the advantages they’ve had in our previous few meetings.

I rekon the club knew the change and rested players with niggles like JK and Brander + Ah chee. The extra week wasn’t going to get us Shuey and Gov. Duggan was prob a chance but an extra week will be good plus a rest for the Bullies game.

Dont like it being a Sunday night game though but its not the end if the world.

Its actually not too bad we have a Wafl bye next week that was aligned with our afl bye . So if any of our guys are almost ready post bye they could effectively get some match practice in the week before in the wafl

You guys are always going to be affected most as soon as anything COVID related pops up as your premier makes it impossible.
If the game wasn’t changed we would have come back to Melbourne after tonight’s game

then we wouldn’t be allowed back in and the game would have been in Sydney

Our govt seems to have been more flexible than the SA govt this time round.

Bye bought forward / not forward. Players coming back underdone / not coming back...

Makes no iota of a difference this year. We aren't contending, nowhere close to it.

Who cares.

Let's see what the list is made up of for the rest of the year, and who needs to be cut.

Exactly. Fight the fights that might make a difference. Maybe win some brownie points being accommodating here. Better than digging our heels in over something that is going to be negligible in a season where we aren't contending.

AFL is an entertainment buisness - makes perfect sense

I can cop the fixture moving, I get we need to be flexible in covid times etc.

But I can’t cop a 5:10pm start on a school night in WA, just because it’s a public holiday on the east coast the next day. That is absolute f**king tripe.

Get f**ked Gil...

Nice. So we're the travelling side for our own home game.

Not that it would have made a difference to the result anyway, but seriously, does this club stand up for its own interests at ANY point?
