North Melbourne - Draft/pick reasoning.

3. North Melbourne - George Wardlaw
I really like the look of Wardlaw and I think he'll be the best player from this draft and have a better career than JHF (bookmark time)
He was who I wanted the Eagles to pick up pre pick swap. For me, a no brainer. Even with the potential string thing. Love the cut of his jib.

* Other candidates - No one. I wanted him.

4. North Melbourne - Harry Sheezel
Lets be honest, North need a bit of everything. This kid is class personified and a pretty much a sure thing. Again, another no brainer. A true footballer if you will. Yes please!

* Other candidates - I thought about Busslinger for a brief moment and North need quality talls too but I had a later target in mind I ended up getting. Apart from that, no one else really as I already had the Warlord.

33. North Melbourne (traded from GWS) - Max Gruzewski
dajesmac kindly agreed to pick generous pick swap for s**t and giggles. As it turns out, Hook461123 was going to take him with the next selection so it proved to be the right move.

From what I can find, I really like the look and sound of this kids. I don't give s**t he's only 193-194cm. He's an excellent contested mark of the ball, reads the flight very well, can play both ends and is an out standing character - Something North also really need.
He kind of has a Georgiades vibe but perhaps with a higher ceiling.

42. North Melbourne - Kaleb Smith
I was on the shitter at work when I logged in (pardon the pun ;)) to see if it was my turn again. Keys was moving like Monocle after a two bottles of Grange and was too slow to the punch, even with the PM with my picks sent hours earlier.

For some reason I sill though Cowan was available...As I was half crown, I realised he was taken way earlier. I'd been on the North board the day before and general consensus was they needed a good running back. As I don't like to play by the rules and Harvey (F/S) doesn't really do it for me, I decided to go the next best in my opinion and go Kaleb Smith. Admittedly, this time I'm working on raw information given and no video but the lad has wheels and a very good kick I've been told. High ceiling, low pick. Sold

* Unwritten profiles to follow.

Just from watching a bit of vision of this kid, there is a lot of Josh Kennedy in the way he plays.
He has a high footy IQ, can midfield and is athletic.
The issues I can

WW that’s a good summation of Dowling.

He is a natural footballer, apt comparison is Josh Kennedy.
I though his championships were very solid and definitely consistent.
Mr Monocle I feel that if this kid was a little more explosive, he could be the best of the mids. In my opinion he is a mutch better prospect than Elijah Tsatas, who I'm not a fan off, but is taken over by Phillipou because of his speed.

Do you think that West Coast have their eyes set on Ginbey because of his upside and the success with Hough? They do both come from the less traditional talent pathways.

The only thing that worries me (and I love natural footballers, I've made that know for years), is the evolution of the game. Maybe one guy in the team that can play that same sort of role, especially as it evolves further. Is he good enough to be the modern Priddis?

Cheers all - because of this draft it looks like I’m being noticed by the Eagles -

They’d have to pay me more than my current employer but I’m prepared to consider offers.
