News WCE not doing AFL GF review on Foxtel

Sent a number of texts to SEN breakfast this week, and finally had the question “Do you know if West Coast are doing the GF Player/Coach Review with Foxtel, like in previous years where the players watched and comment on plays during the GF”

Unfortunately the answer was that at this stage West Coast had not indicated they were wanting to do it, according to Foxtel, so it was unlikely to be happening.

Ever since the Hawks (I think the first) did theirs, I’ve been waiting for the Eagles to hopefully get a chance to give us an insight into their thinking around the play and personal actions after winning a flag. Bitterly disappointed if the club doesn’t do this, either on Foxtel or via their own media.

I'm sure that they are doing something, maybe it's just an inhouse production? The club did a very small review on the website not that long after the GF and I'm sure that at the time they said the full review would be done next year.

They don't want to get ahead of themselves but doing one so early. They are simply waiting for the threepeat to do a mini series event feature that will run over 3 nights in late 2020.

I think 'bitterly disappointed' is a bit of an overreaction.

I am pretty sure that I read that there was going to be an extended version of the "Eagle has landed" documentary being shown on Foxtel in the New Year.

But if not I won't lose any sleep. Just continue to bask in the glow of the Premiership glory and don't worry about the small stuff.

Why should we maybe give away trade secrets? Let the rest of the AFL campaigners work things out for themselves. As has been said before, we all know what happened next.

They will bring out the 2018 DVD pack for Christmas.

Then next year release another with extra footage and interviews never seen before AND a 'sealed section'.
