Credit to our recruiters. And with a bit of luck too. Great stuff

Let's not get carried away just yet.
Gaff may or may not turn out to be the gun midfielder we needed - and there were other promising mids taken after him. They'd better hope they got it right.
Darling was overlooked by almost every other club so either they were dopes and we got lucky or we failed to see the deficiencies they all did when overlooking him.
Can pretty much say the same thing for Lycett.
On balance it looks like we had a good draft but it came on the back of a miserable season and the good fortune in other clubs by-passing two seemingly talented players.
Yeah, it wouldn't be the first time in the past few years we thought we had the best draft and it turned out to be just OK, with the players not stepping up as much as we thought they would. So far at least.
Yeh stuff it. Darlings the great white hopeLove the journey not the destination. Atm this is a perfect draft so enjoy it.

Destination is a flag. The journey is awsome if thats where it leads, otherwise screw the journey.
Love the journey not the destination.
This sounds like Chris Connolly spin.
Doesn't it just?

WAY too early to be raising toasts to our recruiters ! Wait and see how the coming season goes first. Then, if we manage to rise up the ladder and the new boys play a significant role, THEN we can raise a toast to the recruiting staff !
Yeh but the simple point being, Normally we would have gone some weird way and rather then draft what we need NOW we would draft what we will need in 3 or 4 years time (wth our 2nd pick).Given at most of us would have taken Gaff, Darling and probably Lycett.. not sure if we should be raising our glasses to the recruiters.. we would be toasting an as expected performance.
That being said like many I'm pretty happy with our draft.
They've still got a long way to go to make up for some crap drafting in recent years.
