Looking at those clips, I was impressed with Rosa's game.
And Sullivan surprized me, pleasantly - he had a good game and looks quite mobile. Some cool, composed play through the corridor too. There's a good chance he'll make it.

Just out of curiosity, (still watching all the videos now, on my internet speed it takes a while) how do you think our forward line went today without our two main targets in Kennedy & Lecras?

Looking at the videos Mitch Brown was fantastic, his defensive efforts I50 were a feature and he did some nice things playing at CHF.

Agree with all of this. I am not a Rosa fan - not a hater - just always been a bit 'meh' about him, but he really pushed hard and hit hard that game. Sullivan Ive hardly seen before, and was pleasantly surprised by some of his link up handballs etc - composed and to advantage. And Mitch Brown just belongs in the forward line - tough, presents, puts pessure on and can kick straight

Watched all four parts and was thinking: "Gee, Carlton really look terrible". Then I realised that you've probably edited out the bits where Carlton are getting the ball into their attack. hahahahah....

Anyway, I understand... You're a WCE supporter, so why bother showing any footage of Carlton going forward? Fair enough! But I hope we played at least a little bit better than what you can see in these videos, because from that footage, we look like absolute rubbish!

Haha yeah there were some decent Carlton passages to goal I selectively omitted All round it just seemed you guys lacked a little bit of tackling pressure, seemed at times to hang on to the ball too long, and you had a couple of youngsters I dont know who were shocking - like really let you down just about every time they got the ball. But when the regulars linked up by hand and foot well there were some good passages. In fact I'll be nice and give you guys a few of them in a vid and post it over on your board.

btw - Betts in any trouble of being reported for head high bump at 3.55 of the 3rd??

nic nat's footage in the 3rd quarter video is fantastic.

Loved it when Stevens knocked down the Carlton player, then while he was struggling to get up he dug his elbow into him probably telling him to harden up. The Carlton player retaliated by swinging his arm into Stevens but he didnt feel at at all. Love the aggro.

Carlton looked to me like the Eagles did against Port. Just in for the run, not exactly working their asses off to create zones, win the hard ball, apply defensive pressure etc.

Fair enough when you consider they're a young team that's had to travel to the other side of the country to play a practice game at a suburban ground.

WC on the other hand looked stung into action by last week's performance, which was confirmed by Embley's words in the paper today.

Therefore wouldn't read too much into the scoreline of this game - as with every preseason game!

I rekon the tv makes the game seem so much slower then in real life. You get the perspective of how fast everyone else is moving across the ground rather then the snap shot contests.

Real life also excentuates the speed that the fast players have when you can see them running away/past players who look like they are standing still.
