Why pick #4? Academy? Uwland etc? It's still pick 2, because all discussions here ignore Academy and F/S players. It might end up pick 4, but for discussion wise, it's pick 2.We will surely get a Priority Pick. We've been uncompetitive now since 2022, that's four seasons. We probably won't get as much compensation as North did but we still deserve something. (Even though I'm against the practice of Priority Picks).
That'll leave us with Pick 1, Pick 4 (for Allen) Pick 18 (Hawthorn's first pick as Premiers for example) Pick 19 (P.P) than pick 20 (Start of second Round). That's a good start. If worst case scenario we lose Reid in a trade we could get two further top picks this year and maybe two the following.
What is more concerning as well is that the draft is about to be compromised for the next few years with the impending inclusion of a Tasmanian team. The outlook appears really, really bleak, with seemingly no light at the end of the tunnel.
There's so many factors that go into it but to me the biggest thing is our absolute refusal to draft and develop any genuine ball winners for 10 or so years. What I struggle to understand is how a core group of senior players, premiership players, have just sunk so low into mediocrity. Where did it go wrong? How much of this is truly on Simmo? Anything else?
As a keen football observer, I'd love to understand more from the fans, what you guys think needs to happen. I'm glad this thread was created. One club always has to finish last, but West Coast's time down the bottom has been far too long.

I was pondering this point yesterday afternoon.. There's too many teams in AFL not enough good players to go round.
A few of the main things:I come in peace.
I watched yesterday's game and like many non-Eagles supporters I speak with, it's no longer funny and is actually quite sad where this proud club has ended up. It's terrible for the competition and the AFL must be deeply concerned.
What is more concerning as well is that the draft is about to be compromised for the next few years with the impending inclusion of a Tasmanian team. The outlook appears really, really bleak, with seemingly no light at the end of the tunnel.
I don't really know any Eagles supporters to get a perspective from, but what are the main reasons for why the club has fallen so hard?
For mine, it seems like Covid absolutely ruined your list. Decimated it. I remember when you could barely put an AFL side together, and the WAFL side was comprised of almost completely non-AFL listed players.
After Covid, it seemed like the rot just set in. Combined with very poor list management decisions. Honouring Tim Kelly's wish to return home and rigid demand to only play for West Coast by placating my club's demands was, in hindsight, a terrible decision.
What I struggle to understand is how a core group of senior players, premiership players, have just sunk so low into mediocrity. Where did it go wrong? How much of this is truly on Simmo? Anything else?

Go look at the absolute spuds that were drafted with the picks we gave up. Odds are none will be on an AFL list by end of the year. Tim Kelly was not the problem. The Tim Kelly trade destroyed the fabric of the club and set it back 10 years.
