This is exactly true. We cannot simply be a top side in a year or 2. Westcoast were last in 2000 and then come 2004/2005 they become a well drilled machine. we need to be patient - after all we have been waiting 26 years already. A few more won't kill us. Stick with em guys.

Wrong game plan.

Saints moved their forwards down, eliminated space doggies could run to and applied tackles to get turnovers.
We try and out play them....result 4-5 goals down and game over.

Had we used Saints tactics early and kept on par until 1/2 time we may have got them thinking and possibly then play them at their own game.

Also too much Richo conscious in 1st half, rebound footy, spaces created and run = goals for doggies...game over.

We need time to move on the older players and let the yongsters mature

I'm sorry, but we need to be moving up the stick a little bit. How can it not matter that we are losing? We are so far off being a 'power' its not funny anymore.

If we picked a squad, our best squad, at the start of the year seriously, who in it now would not be in it? Coughlan and Brown. Thats it. Other teams have more injuries and we pretty much have our best team on the park. So what if Simmonds was out for the first 3 rounds? We should have the depth to cover these sorts of things.

It doesn't really matter whether we get a couple of wins or not. We aren't going to be near the 8 one way ot the other. We are utter crap and hopeless. Let's face it. The rest of the season is just about fulfilling the fixtures and hoping we mug a few clubs when the have a off day in order to avoid a total embarrassment.

At least we know early on the season is over so we won't be let down later on and if the Footy bosses at Punt Rd have any sense it is time to play the kids and tell them the results don't matter and its all about gaining experience.

Just from an outsiders perspective but Richmonds problems don't seem to be from a lack of effort. They have a crack and are reasonably hard at it, its just that the skills are horrible and Richo is the only genuine target

One thing though, I sat behind the goals and kept thinking why is Gaspar in the team, and taking some up-and-coming full-backs spot? For the dogs, we played Brian Harris as FB first in about 2002, even though Mathew Croft was available. Harris got hammered time and time again, especially against Lynch and those types, yet now he is the cornerstone of our defence.

It's not rocket science Wallace, get a young kid in there!
