I know I will probably get a serve for this, but as most posters know, I blew the lid long ago. The way things have turned out, I really can't see us missing out on the grand final. We have the weeks rest and we'll meet either the Pies or the Eagles in the prelim.
The eagles are done. If they fall over the line against the Pies, we will destroy them. No Judd, no Cousins, no Kerr, no Hansen... They would not stand a chance against us, especially in Melbourne.
Collingwood did well against the Swans and played a good game against us earlier in the season, but I believe we would smash them if we met them. As mentioned previously, we'd be coming off a week's rest, and they'd be battling on after two tough finals against two of the most physical teams in the competition. Add to that a trip to Perth, and we would be eating bird pie.
I guess it's sort of just a matter of who we meet in the grand final. I really can't see the Kangaroos getting up after we shit all over them today. Dean Laidley would have been thinking about next year in his coaches box today. The Hawks will make mince meat out of them and will no doubt come up against the Power.
The hawks have already disposed of the Power at AAMI this year, and only lost on the siren down in Tassie, so really it could be anyone's game. Come the grand final, I would be confident against either side, but I would rather face the Hawks. The Hawks are young and would have slogged their way through three weeks of finals already. Come grand final day, they wouldn't have much in the tank.
If we played Port, we'd be paying them back for the end of the year. Selwood, Bartel and Ling (probably all in our top 5 today) showed how much of an influence they have on the way we play, and would no doubt get us over the line against the Power. That said, I'd love to beat the Hawks just to stick it up them.
Now, wheres that lid gone?
