I know I will probably get a serve for this, but as most posters know, I blew the lid long ago. The way things have turned out, I really can't see us missing out on the grand final. We have the weeks rest and we'll meet either the Pies or the Eagles in the prelim.

The eagles are done. If they fall over the line against the Pies, we will destroy them. No Judd, no Cousins, no Kerr, no Hansen... They would not stand a chance against us, especially in Melbourne.

Collingwood did well against the Swans and played a good game against us earlier in the season, but I believe we would smash them if we met them. As mentioned previously, we'd be coming off a week's rest, and they'd be battling on after two tough finals against two of the most physical teams in the competition. Add to that a trip to Perth, and we would be eating bird pie.

I guess it's sort of just a matter of who we meet in the grand final. I really can't see the Kangaroos getting up after we shit all over them today. Dean Laidley would have been thinking about next year in his coaches box today. The Hawks will make mince meat out of them and will no doubt come up against the Power.

The hawks have already disposed of the Power at AAMI this year, and only lost on the siren down in Tassie, so really it could be anyone's game. Come the grand final, I would be confident against either side, but I would rather face the Hawks. The Hawks are young and would have slogged their way through three weeks of finals already. Come grand final day, they wouldn't have much in the tank.

If we played Port, we'd be paying them back for the end of the year. Selwood, Bartel and Ling (probably all in our top 5 today) showed how much of an influence they have on the way we play, and would no doubt get us over the line against the Power. That said, I'd love to beat the Hawks just to stick it up them.

Now, wheres that lid gone?

I would just about be hanging from a bridge. :p

Ohh shit...

Here I was thinking that winning your qualifying final ment you had a home prelim.

Now I find out we go straight into the GF?

Collingwood's non-contested style(soft if you will) isn't ideal for Geelong, but when you restrict Rocca and Cloke.. pretty much game over. Our defense would do the job. I still wouldn't like to play Collingwood in the prelim though. Injury depleted West Coast at the MCG is a much nicer thought. ;)

Collingwood's 'kids' will be struggling to walk after finals against two teams that have played off for the last two grand finals.

you keep telling yourself that, hopefully you will get a chance to smash

Roccccca, Cloke, Rusling, Didak, Davis, Thomas, Medhurst forward line, you can throw a bloke called buckley in their too now, they say he goes alright too ;)

Then once you smash that with your magic backline, contend with clement, shaw, wakes, goldsack, maxwell and obrian.. all battlers.

Its in the bag catters, call the finals off ;)

May as well. Although it will be fun to see you try and stop us. How many of those players were listed as AA? Oh yeah, that's right...

How many AFL flags you won? oh thats right 1 2007 right? haha
Your delusional JBMKII!!

Collingwood will get smashed if they come up against the Catters.

The wobblers will probably beat WCE this week purely because their biggest guns are out but I wouldn't go blowing the trumpet to loud....the pies simply are not Geelongs measure at the moment....not even close

well on the way yep.
looking good yep.
solid yep.
in fact, playing awesome team oriented football yep.
but still have to win the prelim - one week at a time.
Harely held the team in the huddle after the game, hopefully stating just that.

They can do that. It's up to them to keep it all together... Not us. Point I've been trying to make all year with regards to this stupid lid. No matter how obsessed we are with what happens at the Geelong Football Club, nothing 'we' do actually has an impact on what happens on the weekend.

While Geelong would have to be confident against either team, I agree. If Collingwood beat West Coast over there imagine the huge psychological boost it'd have?? While the trip is tough over there, you'd have to be damn happy with yourself beating WC in Perth, in a final. Plus of course we'd have more of a 'home ground' advantage at the G against WC.

Anyway, I'm just happy we can kick back, put our feet up next week, relax and watch em (hopefully) belt the hell out of each other.

Harley definitely would have been making sure the boys don't get ahead of themselves. We were very impressive today, but anything can happen in a PF or GF and we can't drop our guard for a second.

Edit: That must be Partridge! I got the feeling YOP had blown the lid off.

Non-contested, that's when you out-tackle the GFists of the last two years 68-37, right?

You couldn't restrict Cloke when you had Egan, and we didn't have Rusling, and yet you make it sound so simple! ;)
