We are in urgent need of some crumbers ie mosquito fleet type players. Im interested to know if there are any players in SANFL that can fill this role or who people think we should trade for. I think we should try and Get Dick from Collingwood...... what do people think?

We have three blokes who can play the role. Too bad they're injured.
Who? Callinan isnt quick and has never played a game. Porps doesnt play like a misquito, more a marking forward.

Not addressing this area has been a major **** up. Perhaps we thought Jacky would come on:eek: Cue WW.

I think it would be tough to trade for him. Buckley loves Dick.

Dick's a hard one, just the sort of slippery customer we have trouble with. You know that if Dick gets a few touches early he could explode.

The best thing you can do is to try to suck Dick up the ground and get him away from the goals.

Collingwood would want to much for him.
Bryon Sumner is another to look at. Being an SA boy he could be enticed to return home and Sydney are fair when it comes to trading with other clubs.

I like to know why Tambling wasn't tried there when he wasn't doing anything in defense.
My thoughts exactly. Shock... he might add something up forward:rolleyes: The club probably just see him as a defender or midfielder. I like to see him given a few games up forward before making that judgement.

Oh but we love these 192 cm flexible 'midfield types'. Otten, Gunston, Thompson, smith and Henderson.

Yeah Crowmo..i agree with you. Hopefully in this draft we can recruit some players under perhaps 187 cm with some good speed and lateral movement.

I'm not sure many would agree with me, but i'd really love to see little simon phillips here at adelaide. Played a couple of games with sydney when he was young but screwed up a little a couple of times. He has been playing for Norwood and is on Port's list plus currently has a broken jaw thanks to our own ian callinan

but he is a special sort, makes things happen when he plays so i'd love to see him here :thumbsu:

You're right there, I certainly don't agree.

No offence to Phillips, but we don't need anymore depth players, what we want are genuinely talented natural footballers. Someone who is quick, has flair and reads the play well. Someone mentioned Brandon Matera earlier, he is exactly the type of player we want.

I pray to God that Milera can develop into this player.

It's time to give Matthew Wright a decent crack it.

Has developed a more attacking side to his game this year and has added an 'outside' possession gathering game to his natural inside clearance winning.

Only criticism is lack of foot speed, but no slower than Callinan from what I've seen and, as with Callinan, actually appears to have a 'football brain' which does mitigate the lack of pace somewhat.

This is something our side lacks a bit of. Would be good to see him given a real crack.

Focus should be on ball winning midfielders.... Can't rely on Thompson to do it all it....

Its a sad state of affairs when on Saturday Carlton's top 5 possession getters had their hands on the pill 35 more times than our top 5 possession getters.

Be great to have Sloane back - but how much can we rely on a 17game 'hardnut midfielder'?

Once we can get the ball consistently and get our midfield toughness up we can start to worry about crumbing forwards.

Hopefully a decades worth of 200+ games ;)
