CARLTON have done what very few teams can do, and that is go to Perth and come away with the 4 points. Carlton grinded out the 8 point win against the Dockers in extraordinary fashion, as they threw Jacob Weitering forward in the last quarter! Although, he didn't impact the scoreboard directly, he presented well and set up 3 of Carlton's 4 final quarter goals.

Carlton gave father son Braden McKay his debut in the tough clash and McKay repaid their faith, as he went on to collect a team high 28 touches and 6 inside 50s in a debut that should earn him the rising star nomination. He was well supported by Patrick Cripps (27 and 6 clearances), David Armitage (23 and 8 clearances), Kade Simpson (23 and 5 tackles) and Zach Tuohy (23 and 8 rebounds).

The core midfield group all outplayed and out classed the Fremantle mids and they won the contested ball by +25 and the hitouts +9. However, the Dockers had more clearances (+4) and more inside 50s (+4), suggesting the Dockers midfielders did a better job than many thought.

Ruckman Matthew Kreuzer dominated Fremantle counterpart Zac Clarke, as Kreuzer claimed best on ground honours, with 23 disposals, 9 marks, 31 hitouts, 1 goal and 6 inside 50s. Kreuzer was well supported by Harry McKay, who has come on in leaps and bounds in the past 8 weeks. McKay provided relief for Kreuzer, with 10 hitouts, but was a dominating force up forward, kicking 6 goals, his 2nd bag of 6 this year!

Matthew Wright played another marvellous game on the half forward flank, with 20 touches and 4 goals, but his 10 tackles is the highlight, showing the defensive pressure that he and the fellow forwards put on the Dockers ball carriers from defence! Stewart Crameri chipped in with 2 goals from 12 touches, while Andrejs Everitt was probably a little under done, as he could only manage the 2 disposals.

Michael Apeness was close to Fremantle's best player in the 8 point loss, as he amassed 12 disposals, 7 marks, 12 hitouts and 5.4. Apeness played a lone hand up forward, being the one of only 2 multiple goal kickers for the Dockers, along with Michael Hurley (3 goals from 15 touches).

Harley Bennell accumulated a game high 30 touches and 10 inside 50s, while Michael Walters had 28 touches and 5 tackles. Nick Suban also had 28 disposals, Hayden Crozier had 27, Garrick Ibbotson 26, while Lachie Neale had 24 disposals.
