Grundy has been okay in Small Patches but he is still a few seasons off from having a Big Impact.

White and Lynch have been Useless. Been better to Keep Dawes.

Karnezis would help a lot. Kicked bags in the VFL

They were either u17 selections, or qld selections ...which means they didnt even make the draft... and there were a few top 10 draft picks and a couple from further down the draft....and danny stanley who stuck out like a sore thumb. Well we thought we would Improve this season but what I have seen. I reckon we have gone Backwards.

Here are my Thoughts on why:

• We are 1 trick pony side. Stop Cloke and we are Stuffed. Just put a player in front Cloke and we just bomb the ball everywhere
• Too Many Kids in Important Postions. Kids in the Ruck. 2 Inexperinced KPD and 1 Big KPF in Cloke
• Lumamba has gone Backwards. Should be shopped around
• How Blair keeps getting a game is beyond me
• Outside of Pendles. We have average at best users of the Ball
• We have too many Soft Players. When hear Foot Steps they Fumble and Bumble
• Goal Kicking is Disgusting
• We don’t play more then 1 QTR a Game
• Eddie having too much say with the Football Side of the Game. It was his Idea to do the MM and Bucks Thing. After 2010 when we won the Flag and Finals in 2011 we have gone Just Backwards

We could easily finish about 10-12th still.

We will struggle to win another game this year. We could beat Lions and GWS but they are no Gurantees.

We have to Go Backwards to go Forwards?

Finishing that low is a possibility, although 11th would be the lowest.
That would give us pick 8 in the draft. Which may see the first 7 picks passing on Moore? Hence we could use our pick 8 as a live pick & take Moore 2nd round?
I hate thinking that way, however big picture/long term may be best result for us??

Never post immediately after a loss Dave. It rarely ends well.

The reality is that at the beginning of the season there were plenty of us happy to accept that 2014 was a rebuilding year and that we would be either low in the 8 or even out of it. When we won some games and got closer to the 4 everyone was happy to change that opinion very quickly but the underlying issues that worried us preseason are still there. We have a team full of kids as you said yourself and they have held up remarkably well given the lack of experience. Had we not lost Reid for virtually the entire season and had we been able to field a bit more experience in our backline a bit more often then I think we would possibly be looking a bit better right now. Also, had we got something out of Freeman and Shazza etc then because of the inconsistency of a lot of the top sides this year we may well have been pushing top 4 but in the end, what has happened is not that unusual and although last night was like a bad nightmare, I'm still happy to believe that our stocks for next year and beyond are not looking that bad.

That said, I was devastated by that loss last night. I even found myself a couple of times referring to Young as "That effing hawthorn player". When he dropped that pudding he pretty much dropped the game. Take that mark and we're over the line. How a player of his experience drops a mark like that is absolutely beyond me. Not that I blame him entirely because there were a few other stand-out moments which lost us momentum but that's the one which felt to me most like the game changer.

Anyway, time to move on and look forward to getting something like our best side on the park in the last part of the season and hopefully build for an assault in the next couple of years. Life's too short to worry about spilt milk!

P.S. Positive thoughts.... The Caff = giant killer (or is that son of god killer), Witts... starting to look like he may fulfill all the promise! Could probably come up with more but that's not a bad start.

Last night really hurt.

But are we overrated or are we just where we are meant to be? I think we have a side that if we played to a very best could match it with most sides but the problem at the moment is we aren't getting anywhere near it. At the start of the year we all had high hopes but thought this could be a building year and next year and beyond will be our real chance.

Not having Reid all year and missing Brown for most of it has meant we are relying on two young guys to hold down CHB and FB. Throw in two young ruckman to go with it. We needed everything to go right for us to be a top 4 side and so far Lady Luck has not been on our side. Next week we should get a few more key players back and that will make a big difference. We just need to keep on building and see where we end up this year but next year and beyond looks good.

But f$$k yesterday hurt.

We played pretty well in the 1st half and moved the ball well with speed but I do agree about the Cloke miss it knock all the stuffing out of us,there was great ball movement to get it to him and we were in control of the match at that stage.

We held Ablett and were looking alright at that stage but christ we were bad after halftime Young missed a soda when the umpire gave a 50 mtr penalty against the Suns,that was a gift because he certainly tried to play on and then missed the set shot from 40 out.

I just wished Karnezis and Reid had been fit this season they at least are able to apply scoreboard pressure with accurate kicking at goal.

We finish 10% better yesterday and we beat a very good Gold Coast side.

On another note, they will be absolutely unbeatable is 2 years time....
