At least your lot are able to financially sustain your own club....oh wait....rattle tins...save us SANFL...save us AFL

Do you still have Foodbank (muffled laugh) as a sponsor, its quite apt if you do (double muffled laugh)

Sorry I am not getting your post? Are you having a go at Port Adelaide for supporting a worthy cause or what? To be honest you've just made yourself out to be a tool with that comment. It's a community engagement program that I for one are proud of my club for supporting.

Comprehension isn't a strong point with you people.

And you had 24000 to a game this year. The stats don't lie. In the last 10 years, Crowd numbers for Crows have decreased by more than the Power's.. and it's quite simplistic to say that Power supporters come from the Port Adelaide area. I know a lot more Port supporters that live a lot closer to Adelaide CBD than to West Lakes or Alberton. Do all Crows fans live at West Lakes? It really is a silly argument.

This is true, but crowds for both teams have been terrible the past couple of years.

Port 2003 home average: 31845 finished H&A first
Port 2013 home average: 25094 Finished H&A seventh (eighth including Essendon) (down 22%)

Adelaide 2003 home average:44524 finished H&A sixth
Adelaide 2013 home average: 33703 finished H&A eleventh (down down 24%)

so really not much of a difference, percentage wise. In fact, pretty terrible for both clubs. It is worth noting though that if you use last years figures that Port would be miles worse. Since 2008 in particular AFL has dropped off in SA.

But, but their supporters only come from the Alberton area. Cry me a river.

I couldn't give a rats arse at what program it is and I give a shit even less at what you personally think of my comment.

How about you answer this "How many times has your mob cracked 45k in a home and away match in the last 5 years, other than any showdown match?"

We have probably had bigger percentage drop offs, but Sydney, Brisbane and Perth have all seen decent drops in crowds over the years.. West Coast and Fremantle this year have only averaged 36000 and 34000 respectively.. Too much live against the gate football, bigger screen tv's in homes, lazier people and in Adelaide, the whole AAMI Stadium is a total dump thing has also had a bad effect since around 2008/09..

Too much focus on expansion states and Victoria. Rather than growing SA and WA as important traditional footy states. I feel like theirs a huge disconnect from all the big clashes that get promoted in Melbourne, and then QLD and NSW obviosuly get huge resources pumped into them.

It's like all the big games are events, then our games just happen to occur in the background. That rumoured ANZAC Day evening game and the city move with better time slots, maybe we try and trade our usual one Friday night game for a few extra Saturday night games and make that our time slot and that will hopefully kick start an increase in the interest in AFL in SA.

Once, and the Crows one too..

I am looking forward to something like this. http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_match_statistics?mid=3095

Wow look at Peter Burgoyne's game, he was premier front runner in 2007, all through 2007 I knew Port were no good, I knew they would get shown up at some stage and it happened, same will happen this year. Who is 2013's Peter Burgoyne?

5 players over 20 disposals.. Really was a great day.

And for Justin Westhoff to go from 7 disposals to a brownlow medal... He's still a favourite right???

It just would have been nice to have an excuse to go to the MCG next week on a road trip. Ah well.

This was pretty much it for me. My best mate is a Power fan, and the two teams have never played in Melbourne on the same weekend. Would have been fun.

He walks on water. Well, he thinks he does. 5 good games a year from Westflog. Usual output.

Hopefully for you guys it'll be a hot summer next year.
Do you know where I'm going with this?

Hopefully for you guys "this year was never a premiership year at Port Adelaide."

They have a history of it, they have mastered that selfish goal celebration, you know the stop.. intense stare.. because I'm the greatest ever footballer and everybody should be looking at me right now because this is bigger than the team. Schulz is the best at it.

Schulz is the least selfish player on the whole team. The way he works up the ground etc. is immense. The only 'selfish' thing he does is when he dives for a mark instead of keeping his feet.
