We got corrie

This means we'll need to delist one more player...I'd be pretty disappointed if it was Stanley.

No we don't. Rhyce Shaw + a pick are gone for a pick. So its like a straight swap with Corrie.

HE IS RUBBISH!!!! THATS WHY THE LIONS TOOK OUR LATE PICK! He has done NOTHING since being in the system. Again, rubbish trading by the pies!

We've obviously been keen on him previously (we almost picked him up a couple of years ago but he re-signed with Brisbane), and why waste a draft pick on him when we can get him pretty much for free?

LOL...cant anyone see whats happened here?
We have traded R.Shaw and got Corrie who is the same sized player and same type of player...LOL we havent achieved ANYTHING!

Different coaches have different ideas on players.

Never underestimate a change of scenery.

Corrie is talented.

Corrie is a bargain. We effectively got him for FREE by trading him for our 7th pick, which we were unlikely to use. He was good enough to play 20 games for the Lions in 2008. He's fast, has good goal sense and is far more damaging the Rhyce Shaw. And unlike Rhyce Shaw, Corrie is actually capable of hitting a target with a kick.

Swans may have gotten Rhyce off us a little too cheaply but we got a better player for nix.

Voss was probably flexing his muscles and this trade will keep his players on their toes. Corrie is the sacrificial lamb and we are the beneficiaries. Great trade, Pies!

From the AFL Record.. fantasy football edition

Anthony Corrie: 24.3yr 186cm 82kg

Missed nearly all of 2007 with a knee reconstruction but returned for the last 2 games of the season. Corrie is a dashing utility who is at his best carrying the ball through the centre and kicking long into the forward 50.

2008 stats: 20 games averaged 13.2 disposals 3.6 marks 1.4 tackles 1.0 goals

*Note* Will be much better in his 2nd year (2009) back from the reco.

Right now I can't see us going to the PSD

Off ------- On

Burns - Corrie
Wakes - Wellingham
Holland - Macaffer
R Shaw - pick 11
Lonie - pick 29
Egan - pick 45
Iles - pick 46

I think this is a fair demonstration of the kind of coach Voss is going to be though. I think more then a muscle flex it's a message that he isn't going to accept anything or one who he thinks is soft. It's a decent line to take to a point. I am one who believes whether your outside or in you have to be willing to go and go as hard as you can when it is your turn. I just wonder if he will really end up being a Tony Shaw MK II where effort and hardness is the be all and end all and players with pace and flair are completely ignored.

^^ All depends on who gets elevated and what happens in the next half hour of trade week. Are you sure MacCaffer will be elevated?? Or do we have to delist him if he doesn't move onto the main list??

do we have to promote him? cant we re-rookie him? maybe we can boot toovey....

Being that my partner is a Lions supporter, I watch pretty much all of Brisbane's games. With that said, I'm really pleased that we managed to get Corrie, especially for free basically.

As Brisbane fans have stated earlier, he does his best work forward of the ball but he'll provide us with dash anywhere he plays. He uses the ball well and is dangerous around goal; both in play and from a set shot. We've lost Shaw, but we've replaced him adequately with someone who can equal Shaw's running game and exceed his disposal.

Either way you look at it, we've done well. Corrie is a much better - and proven - prospect than Egan and I prefer him to Shaw in all honesty. He's also three years younger than Rhyce and has a lot more to work with. I'm not predicting another Medhurst revelation, but Collingwood has a lot to work with here and we've obviously been tracking him for a while.

Very happy all in all, now it's just a matter of consoling the better half; Corrie was one of her favourites.

Those stats show what a bargain he is, with Leon moving up to the midfield, Dick and Corrie can stay 1/2 forward and forward pocket and then change with Leon when he needs a rest.

Those stats are league worthy, and he is a bargain for basically free.

Also Voss is a young and immature coach, chnaces are he will make some bad mistakes early on. Just hope that trading Corrie is one of them.

Basically free, cant really understand why we need him unless he will become a backmen with us and take over rhyces role.

But at 93 you cant complain, and any senior acion is a win.

So welcome aboard nuxy

They are different players one can kick the other can't. He will be good just you wait. He's also younger than R Shaw and in that age bracket that we are missing players.

Good get pies, at 24 surely the best is ahead of him.
