At this point I would just tell the ferals to stick it and say we're going to deal with Geelong and get Christensen unless they accept 5 + 25.

Beams will leave them for nothing next year anyway, don't even care where he goes just to see their faces!

Would Collingwood need to lose Beams in order to get Dangerfield as a free agent next year? To offer him $1 mil/yr?

Their fans might rate Beams ahead of Dangerfield but if they can get a really good pick for Beams and then replace with Dangerfield for free that would be a good effort.

Interesting that Swann made mention of Collingwood being too busy with other deals to deal on Beams. Where's that leave their "if you don't agree by 5.00pm Friday we'll deal elsewhere" ultimatum?

I think most rate Dangerfield better as do I.

Might have to walk away from this one, if the latest "Age" article has any substance.

Much less confident than I have ever been, TBH. Was always going to be a big ask.

When you hear Pendlebury talking up a 'fresh' 30 year old Swan for next year, you know there's concern.
Bb-but he only played 17 games this year! This recruit is so fresh I've forgotten what he looks like.

Clean cut professional looking fella yeah?

Schwab did say that pick 25 might have to go somewhere else. Hopefully North trade with us as we have a higher pick than Collingwood's 30 or something.

Well, I'm convinced. Straight from the Pies' mouthpiece, pick 5 plus Dane Swan's fitness is enough to get the deal done.
We should have guessed sooner that the only way to satisfy Collingwood would be to give them another Collingwood player.

What a ridiculous statement:

Collingwood has suggested James Aish and pick 5 and has acknowledged it would then have to consider adding something else for Brisbane. Brisbane has consistently said it will not trade players.
Do Collingwood realise that he is 18 and was very recently featured in the National Draft?

My favourite line, however, is this one:

North considers Greenwood worth a pick in the 20s and would be prepared to trade him for the pick 25 from Brisbane should that pick be tied into the Beams trade.

Collingwood wants to separate the Beams and Greenwood discussions.
