AFL intervention that should never be forgotten, marked a devastating divergence of fortunes between the two clubs...twas ever thus at AFL HQ, 'Richmond will survive but poor *insert club name here*, we must act'

Had all of zero chance schache would becoming to us from Brissy.
Yeah that one reeked of contamination as well IMO. "I don't think I want to be here. I want to be home." Goes home for a few weeks during the season. et voila, oh actually I will sign on again for an undisclosed amount.

I'm more pissed at the gws concessions but then again I'm old enough to remember that.. not so much the plugger thing

I remember both.
But remember thinking these GWS concessions are freaking ridiculous. Remember to thinking why the hell did clubs agree to them. Well, they took the money!

It's funny but I don't remember the Lockett thing and I was a teenager going every week at that time. Maybe I've just blocked it out. I'm shattered. It feels like it has just happened.

so can someone explain to me why we werent allowed to sign plugga when he wanted to be a tiger? **** just thinking about having the cho and plugga in the same side is jizz worthy
Apparently couldn't agree with the Saints for a trade, Sydney (probably with the AFL's help) came in with some 4 team trade and got him over.

Did they have a choice but to agree?
F@ck the AFL lets win the flag and spoil there schemes to send another cup interstate, big middle finger for no Friday night games for the Tiges in 2017 as well...flogs.

Yes, we had the choice. A strong club would have said no, albeit we would likely have been outvoted.
Fact was not one club that I can think of at the time voiced their disapproval or dissent and then three years later as they start winning games, it becomes an issue. Thinking back, Collingwood and McGuire might have voiced their anger. Which, is why - while he isn't my cup of tea - I admire McGuire as he ALWAYS has his club's interests at heart.
We had clubs speak up last season when the Lions wanted a priority pick - including some who had benefited from them in the past.
