We hate the Essendon Bombers

Because I am Richmond, hate for Essendon Bombers is literally woven into my DNA. I hate all Essendon Bomber fans, the Etihad Stadium, all Essendon Bomber players and coaches, the colour red, the suburb of Essendon and also bombers.

The hate is so intense that yesterday I printed out a picture of Brendon Goddard's head and put it on my dartboard and then played darts. I can tell you that I hit his face with the darts at least once

Yes, our rivalry is pretty cool. They hate us because we play our home games at the MCG along with Collingwood Magpies, Hawthorn Hawks, Geelong Cats, Melbourne Demons, Essendon Bombers etc. We hate them because they play at Etihad along with North Melbourne Kangaroos, Carlton Blues, Geelong Cats, Western Bulldogs and so forth.

Another reason for our shared animosity is that we wear a yellow sash, and they wear a red sash. Hence my hate for the colour red now.

They also dislike us because we win games that they intend to win but they lose because we are a better side that is better able to put points on the scoreboard, and the team with more points wins.

I can't wait till the next chapter in our fierce rivalry is written tonight

I'm very excited for my first Friday night game of football in quite some time. First time in a while I've had the Friday night clear to sit in front of the telly and watch the Tiges. I remember my dad hating the Bombers.
