If you don't like Duncan's kicking I'd hate to think what your thoughts are on Cockatoos disposal.

Well that's probably an inaccurate perception you have there. His kicks can't be chopped off or smothered too much, given his kicking efficiency is the best in the AFL.Really? Best in the whole competition?
He is a good kick, kicking like a millionaire doesn't mean that he isn't.
I've been consistent on this for a few years. He can be lazy and try and be too cute with his kicking. Get's chopped off or smothered a lot.
Mackie used to do exactly the same.

And that is why we have coaches, and assistant coaches and skills coaches and goodness knows what else to help the players recover and learn and get better. Perhaps we don't have those coaches, perhaps all of our money is going into the stands instead of coaches.Since he was hit by mummy he has not been the same

Yep, for a small sample of this season that was posted about 8 rounds ago.
If people don't want to recognise that he's turned the ball over or made things more difficult than they ought be, either at crucial times in games or in dangerous positions on the ground through being lazy or too cute then I can't help that.
Actually, I might be being a bit harsh. The things that shits me to tears with his kicking is when he's in the clear, under no pressure and a target is in the clear under no pressure and he kicks it to them, only for an opponent somewhere in between the two to be able to get a hand onto it. It puts the side on the back foot and we have to scramble to regain possession.
He's a fine player, with all the ability in the world and when he's on, he's a gun. It's just that little thing that he does that irks me.
One thing I didn't like early in his career that wasn't his fault was when Bomber dropped both he and Menzel in '10 to bring back underdone favourite sons.

Funny you should say that because the kid actually scored best in his draft year for kicking at the combine. If im not wrong he holds the record or at least matched it as well.
The thing a lot of Cockys haters forget is how young he is, just because hes a first round pick doesnt mean we should place unrealistic expectations on him. Hes young, he'll make mistakes, he'll learn from them and develop. We've barely seen him run in the midfield this season as hes being used as a negative pressure forward. All the word coming from the club and the boys suggest this kid is going to be one of our midfield staples. Cant wait to see him take a game by the balls in years to come.
I don't hate him at all. I really like him. I think he needs to be dropped to work on his kicking. It was as bad as I've seen yesterday.

Technically correct.
He was averaging a fraction under 20 touches a game before getting collected in that tackle by Mumford. He's been averaging 25 possessions a game since. Also averaging more tackles this year than ever before as well. Wish every player was as down as he apparently is.
Much the same as Guthrie being putrid and poor despite having his best season statistically.Technically correct.

But wouldn't that be "accepting mediocrity"?Maybe people need to lower their expectations and stop assuming every member of the side can produce Dangerfield level numbers week in week out.
I'm not in the Duncan and Guthrie have been mediocre boat. But wouldn't that be "accepting mediocrity"?
So the coaching staff are playing a bunch of easy beats and will be playing finals, possibly even get a double chance but they are risking the health of one of their best outside runners for the sake of it?
No thanks.
Duncan is just an also-ran and nothing more. He was touted as being the next big thing at the Cattery as late as last year but we are witnessing what he truly is and unfortunately, it's the same people who look for excuses to explain his somewhat unconvincing career trajectory.
