We have Voss, now we have the Assistants...

Don't underestimate how close to Teague Eddie was. Might not have been stoked with how he felt he was treated so thought it was time to make a fresh start.

That's pure conjecture on my part though.

This is my feeling too. It was my understanding bringing him back to the club was with a plan for him once he retires.

can we give this “Betts is our Aboriginal player super mentor” BS a spell?

he’s been a wonderful player abd a good role model, but he’s just a man. Let him go learn his trade.

It's reverse racism ! It's like saying lets get a rabbi in at North Melbourne to look after Goldstein lol.

I cringe when I hear it

It's basically saying Eddie can only coach Aboriginal players and nothing else. What a crock of s**t, he's the best small forward of all time anyone could learn from him

So now that the assistants are finalised, who is the tactician in our recruits?
The way I see it, they all will be involved in 'tactics', each having coached for a while in various capacities. Voss would have had to speak of how he would approach the game as part of his interview, and undoubtedly Ash Hansen is passionate about this. But I see this (all the coaches) as a good team of coaches. "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”.

I also suspect we will be adding more support with some specialist coaches, and other support.

Yes all this is so true and just because was is a great player doesn't mean he is a great coach .. time will tell as a lot of what he did was intuitive ..
Im not really sure he helped progress our own small forward or the forward line while he was playing - as someone on the outside we wouldn't know .. but he was a highlight reel

Thats cos we've drafted a midfield full of players comprising the body size of primary school kids.
That doesn’t wash with me, yes most kids come in underdeveloped a bit light on in all heights and sizes, during their first few seasons size, strength and weight are a justifiable excuse going up against much more mature footballers…

That’s fair enough as long as they try, but an unwillingness in players to tackle contest chase harass bump block 1%’s there’s no excuse for the lack of efforts for any player who pulls on a jumper no matter who they are or play for…

It’s a mindset thing, some players are born with it, others are taught along the way within great teams with good cultures and leaders, lack of team ethics & substandard efforts are not tolerated…

It really isn't. Just another step in the long line of division by race masquerading as cultural diversity and inclusion. Reverse that policy and tell me if you still think it's a good one.
Unsure how to respond...
IMO if it sees more indigenous people among our coaching ranks I'm all for it...

Voss on the boundary
Hansen in the box
Sounds like a plan. Voss was a genius at running the players on the ground when he was captain at the paddlepops.
