Had a quick look Sante and we only have to win 1 game more than the Lions and Pies to make it.

I think you (and I) are basing predictions on the Pies continuing to be rubbish and I reckon they'd manage to beat Freo in R22 if that was the difference between making it and not.

Bottom line - Adelaide this week is dead set massive.

Richmond applied just as much pressure to the ball carrier as Geelong did yet they only had 35 clangers. Our disposal skills and decision making are simply not good enough.

There were plenty of times that Richmond players under no pressure turned the ball over.

Seriously, did you expect our young players to show the poise and skill of the Geelong team? If you did, then you have unrealistic expectations.

No Sante I didn't ever expect that. I predicted a 10 goal loss, and that's pretty much what we lost by. I don't rate the list and poor decision making and disposal has been evident for a long time. Point is why is it still so poor.

I'm basing my opinion of our team over our performances over the past few years. Beating Essendon/Melbourne/West Coast didn't impress me much at all. Beating a top side would, and we are no where near accomplishing such a feat IMO.

Agreed we are nowhere near beating a top side. We are tenth. Teams that are tenth don't generally beat top sides such as Geelong - nobody does. What teams that are tenth do generally do is beat sides that are below them, and beat sides that are around them, which we have done.

Yeah and we could easily be bottom 4 too with a few injuries. Every team has a decent best 22.

We have had a great run with injuries no? Depth is one of our major concerns with the list. King for Brown what a joke that was.

Clearly the reason we were beaten. FWIW, King was better than Morton, but I'd assume you'd rather see King gone.

Both were rubbish. King would be one of the players I would look to trade absolutely.

Depth is one area we are improving in this year. We actually have players playing at a lower level putting their hands up for selection, and keeping pressure on the boys in the firsts. Oakleigh-Nicholls was doing it earlier this year, Danny Meyer's been doing it for a few weeks, Cleve Hughes is another. Shane Edwards - one of our best last night - hasn't been getting a senior game every week this year. Even Kayne Pettifer - who was a walk up start last year - hasn't been able to get a game for most of this year, despite no huge decrease in performance. Add to this a couple of older blokes like Hyde and Tivendale especially, who is tearing up the VFL, and our depth is looking alright.

We managed to win a few without Richo, Foleys still got 10 years, Graham/Putt are un-proven...bit over the top to write them off before theyve had a chance to prove emselves. And its hard to replace superstars like Richo and Brown anyway

I wouldve thought that all our youngsters coming through at Coburg would be considered chances to "make it"...similar to all the youngters out of every other teams best 22.
But no, ours, because they arent forcing Brown and Richo out of our side, can't be any good

You forgot Morton

Mcguane not going to be a KPF. Noone can replace Richo - Richo is Richo and there is only going to be one of him, what we need is a balanced, well rounded attack, not relying on anybody in particular.
