It’s got that feel to it.
There’s a possibility that our path will not be lineal as we integrate Johnson and Erasmus, Amiss etc into this team on a more full time basis.

We need O’Driscoll to play every game and get to Acres level of possessions and be brave going forward
I think O'Driscoll is 2-3 seasons from achieving Acres levels.

I would like to think that NOD peak is a hell of a lot higher than acres. I know acres does some good defensive running but he’s a pretty limited player overall.
Would also expect him to be contributing as much as acres has by the end of next season, he’ll be close to 50 games by then.

Serviceable but wouldn’t be throwing more than a 3 year deal at him. His kicks into the 50 have hit the underside of the international Space Station on more than several occasions this season are of concern…

Respectfully, I disagree. I would love to keep Blacres, but if he is demanding too much then 'In Bell We Trust'.
I look forward to the potential wingers we have in our team developing over the off-season, regardless of his contractual situation. Worner, Henry et al. have all shown great promise.

Henry is not as close as people think and Worner has some great atrributes but is slow and doesn't weigh much. Johnson is an inside mid so who does that leave? Clark and Hughes are the only remaining options which is why I want to keep him.

I think this finals series have shifted my positions somewhat.

Prior to the last probably 4 games I would have said of Acres and Logue I would rather lose Acres and commit long term to Logue

Now I think it's reversed because of what each of them has shown they can do when the pressure is actually on. Yes, different positions I know. But both are flawed players who's flaws we have to kind of accept but then ask the question 'on a whole do they make the current 22 better?'

Acres yes, Logue no (with the qualifier that Cox and Pearce are in as CHB/FB).

If some of the other names being thrown around leave, I’m sure we’ll keep him. I hope so anyway, he’s a solid best 25 player and will be for at least another couple of years.

this year he’s been a best 18 player.

Clarke to wing and Logue back. We are wasting him up forward
Orrr we play Willo at back and move Clark to the wing. We get even more speed into our side and some much needed pace through the midfield. They can both rotate through halfback depending on defensive needs.

I rate Willo. Either way depends on match ups

Your thoughts on this
I'd keep my fellow law man. Acres is great at gaining territory on a wing which suits his name. Unlike Walker who outruns his name most weeks or Meek who's too strong.

If we did trade Acres though we'd need another pun to balance out the list. Considering there is a decent chance Luke Jackson will be a scapegoat every loss he doesn't star in if he ends up here. I think it's a good idea to swap Shultz's number 5 and give it to Luke. That way every time we loose we can have a player called Jackson who's number 5 and we can then Blame it on the Boogey every time on BF.

Makes sense to me

Well if he has the ball in the centre or wing he will obviously be looking to kick it forward.

He can't hold onto the ball forever, waiting for the ideal entry.

If he has nothing the obvious choice is to bomb it long to the tallest forward.

I think this says more about the forward setup or forwards more than anything else.

It has been a problem most of the season.

Does anyone think Walker could play on the wing? Would allow us to move Logue to the backline.
Clark or Walker. I think that was the plan anyway, then Acres had a career best season.
Walker isn’t a half backer. He’s great defnsively but feel like he’s inching to run and take the game on. That what Acres doesn’t that, that extra 10-20m where he takes the tackler on and shake up entries. Walker should be licensed to do so, as he has a knack for it.
