See link below Gary Hinks has now seen roughly 1044 games in a row, as it stands now the game will be played in front of a empty ground this Friday night against the Pies Surely the club must make an exemption for him and let him to in to watch the game so his wonderful record continues

Sure lets compound the absurdity of playing games in an empty stadium by making an elderly man the focus of the tv cameras every time they need a 'crowd' reaction shot. Just so he can keep an esoteric record.

I'm sure you're not serious but there can be no exceptions for this rule. He can be proud that he's attended every game he's been eligible to and will again once it all kicks off and fans are able to attend.

F**k me that's such a massive trip every game. My wife is from Port Fairy which is long enough , but the extra hour or so to Portland must be bloody tedious. And then you've got to alight in freezing miserable Portland....

Yep, we used to do the drive, was a massive day, especially if we had to come home from a Saturday night game etc. Getting home at 3am and up at 7 for pennant golf the next day was never fun!

Rumour is that Gary has just landed at Crown casino in a helicopter with Donald Trump and has his chef hat on ready to go to the game

Would be a great feelgood story and terrific PR for the club if they somehow safely spirited him into the ground where he took Gordon's reserved seat while PG watches from home, but in reality that couldn't be sustained for a whole season.

However if the AFL calls it off after Round 1 then his record would remain intact.
