A lot of talk from melbourne was that leon davis got a spot in the aa team because he was a big game player. WEll let me tell you he is a big game spud. It was a joke that he got a spot in front of Lecras and this finals series proves want sort of player he is under pressure
Agreed

Is he the one that got 1 possession in the Grand Final years ago?

He was abyssmal tonight. Has had a terrible finish to the year. Him along with Mmedhurst should be ashamed of themselves.

John Anthony was a disgrace tonight.

the problem was his form was horrid. he would have made no difference tonight whatsoever

in my opinion our side has been poorly managed over the past 2 months. we should have been selecting the side with the view to helping players peak for september. medhurst should have been dropped in round 17-18 and given a chance to play himself back into form in september.

presti should have been rested a couple of times this year so he can be fresher at the end of the year. we played the bulldogs twice and he's virtually had no match up.

davis has been poor for a good 2 months bar one or 2 games. some say he's been playing injured, well this should have been managed better..

either way, we aren't in the top 2 sides in the competition, but it doesn't help when your guns aren't firing.

Medders best though is miles ahead of macaffers and a few other young kids we had playing tonight. I dont care about form, he would still be more value to the team than macaffer at this present point of time.

Cloke is badly managed I think. Why not just plonk him in the goalsquare? Seriously he's a ****ing monster and should easily beat out most opponents for strength*

*this is assuming he learns how to kick

T.Cloke has a complex called

********initis...

He maybe a monster but he does nothing with it...

He would be better off playing with himself !!!!!!

Our CHF solution is Nathan Brown.

The kid is a fast man mountain with a fantastic straight long kick.

Our backline is settled and he has no place back there.

Then our midfield needs to get some experience and we will be set.

don't speak sense in here.. i started a thread about trading cloke weeks ago and there was carnage.

The problem with Cloke is that he can't kick straight.

If they continue to play him forward there will be plenty of heartache ahead.

Could well be the worst kick at goal for a KPP in the league.

his best is useless unless he's delivering it.

macaffer was quiet today but you forget his last quarter last week, he almost single handedly got us back into a winning position.

and how could you not care about form? form should be the number 1 factor in selection.

Macaffer was one of the only players tonight that could actually stick a tackle. He also did a couple of other nice things in stoppages. Plenty worse tonight.

Sounds harsh but it is so spot on, mooney is the only one to rival him for worst kick for goal.

Its like when rocca was coming back against the saints for the first final, it was like yeah sure he may monster dawson, roccas never been a good kick though and no certainty to kick a bag even if he does manage to take a few grabs.

He needs to fix his kicking quickly or his career is going to be in trouble

No, I think it's far deeper than that. The problem with Cloke is that he is mentally weak. Very weak. You cannot underestimate the importance of a strong mental mindset in sport. But unfortunately for Cloke, it just never seems to improve when the team needs him to stand up!

Geelong made it very hard for you to enter 50 with any real accuracy. I wouldnt blame the forwards too much. But Anthony is such a good kick, you would hope he can start taking some contested marks. He should get better though.

Nathan Brown has a lot of improving to do before he becomes a regular AFL player let alone a CHF. He has had a terrible year form wise and if you struggle to win much of the ball as a defender it is doubly harder as a forward.

Having the right size and build does not always add up to having the necessarys to play KF

to be fair he was a kid back then playing forward pocket, not midfield...cam mooney had zero possessions in a grand final with the roos when he was young too

its frustrating as he should be able to have an impact in these games now, but you can't hang it on a bloke in that situation many years ago when others have been there as well

10 possessions for the game - not good enough but he want alone.

I actually felt sorry for some of our young blokes tonight. Thrown in the deep end by Malthouse and his bunch of cronies. One particular passage of play stays in my mind - a rampaging Gary Ablett brushing aside Dayne Beams like a rag doll.

Our team tonight would have to be one of the worst fielded for the whole year except those few games when we were injury ravaged. The writing was on the wall Thursday night at team selection and set in stone with Pendlebury not coming up.

Ablett had more possessions in the first quarter than 11 of our players had in the entire game. Says it all really.

The entire team had 4 contested marks for the night.

Dawes in the goalsquare
N.Brown at CHF
JA on a flank
Cloke in defence

Lol @ 4 constested marks for the entire game. Not one bloke even looked like taking a mark. Almost every time the ball was kicked to a contest were we the underdog in taking a mark. Often had small players going up just to stop the Geelong blokes from taking a mark in the hope of feeding off the crumbs.

How Dawes never got a game tonight Ill never know especially with Fraser not playing - hasnt set the world on fire but he has the size to atleast make it a 50/50 marking contest.
