Gee, it’s been a tough 26 years. If NMFC trades/recruits any midfield types who lack serious pace, then the club can get stuffed. 20 years of mid-sized, mid-paced, mid-skilled midfielders and look where it's got us. I've had it.

There’s surely some money ball type players like dan butler this year we can target cheaply to fill this void
Witherden- wasn’t getting a game till recently
Petrucelle - would come for free and instantly be our fastest and best pressure player
Ronke- likewise as above
get pace cheaply
with the draft get pace and class

Can pick out a shitman
Easy to say in hindsight, genius! If NMFC trades/recruits any midfield types who lack serious pace, then the club can get stuffed. 20 years of mid-sized, mid-paced, mid-skilled midfielders and look where it's got us. I've had it.
We’ve got a niche marketEasy to say in hindsight

Is that you Bruce?I wouldn't be surprised if the fellas behind him did as well.
My Two Cents. Its not just pace. You can be quick however, if you cant use the footy then you are rendered useless. How do our new recruits rate for pace? Fairly good from draft writeups.
It's the way the game is going and something we still lack.
Wouldn’t get a kick in the AFL. A team of Luke McDonald, Jy Simpkin and Jack Darling would beat a full squad 18 premiership AFLW players by 150 points with ten minute quarters.Erika O'Shea could slot beautifully on to the back flank. Can run, can defend, and can hit a target.
I reckon her work rate would garnish her a kick or 2. Has the 1st 2 potatoes covered, but JD'd b a bigger challenge.Wouldn’t get a kick in the AFL. A team of Luke McDonald, Jy Simpkin and Jack Darling would beat a full squad 18 premiership AFLW players by 150 points with ten minute quarters.
Darling would rip it out of the ruck and bang 45 goals on his own. The other two would be supportI reckon her work rate would garnish her a kick or 2. Has the 1st 2 potatoes covered, but JD'd b a bigger challenge.
Well yeah, but the finding of an afl bloke with the qualities of Erika O'Shea I think is the template. Happy Meal and The Fat Vegan'd struggle to get a gig elsewhere, the girl O'shea'd have suitors across the board. Imo.Darling would rip it out of the ruck and bang 45 goals on his own. Billy Hartung flashed by .....We have arrived at planet pace. I don't care if they're no good, I'd rather no good with pace than no good and slow
That's definitely the attributes we need who can defend first and then take off at speed.Erika O'Shea could slot beautifully on to the back flank. Can run, can defend, and can hit a target.
Very insightful. You are clearly a deep thinkerWouldn’t get a kick in the AFL. A team of Luke McDonald, Jy Simpkin and Jack Darling would beat a full squad 18 premiership AFLW players by 150 points with ten minute quarters.
Its not that deep buds. Deep thinking would suggest AFLW players could compete in the AFLVery insightful. You are clearly a deep thinker
Billy Hartung was quick. So was Josh Williams. My Two Cents. Its not just pace. You can be quick however, if you cant use the footy then you are rendered useless.
The way the modern day game is designed has closed/narrowed the talent pool. If the game was slowed down a little the talent pool would widen.
Very hard to find quick, tough and silky skilled in the country year on year.
There is one thing in this game that will always trump pace. Glorious field kicking. We have arrived at planet pace. I don't care if they're no good, I'd rather no good with pace than no good and slow
