If you think clubs are not reviewing their players and coaches in all clubs you are not with it .
Only 2 weeks ago Hooker from Bombers first call was to Ross Lyon who was strongly trying to recruit him and they have Mcarthy is locked away all in the first few weeks. How many clubs do you reckon have spoken to JJ manager already this year.
Look some trying to make this as knee jerk negative about club , but evident that we are not quite there yet and 2017 looks a more viable premiership hope and whilst yes more leg speed in our mids but in our losses we have been smashed at centre clearances and really it is only our massive conversion ratio that keeping us and winning games and obviously to keep moving forward you have to fix your weaknesses . And all I am just putting out there is there are too many in our football department that have been there too long and we probably need a shake up and selected the two coaches I thought overdue to be replaced.
But by far the key to our clubs future and no 1 priority for our CEO is to sign JJ ASAP for reasons already stated and obvious and club.
Fine. But it's round 7 and we aren't exactly on the bottom of the ladder.

This team has been stuck in the mud since that Collingwood game (Tarrant) in 2003. Probably have dropped more winnable games than any other club. 2nd half of 2015 we started winning big games, had a close finals victory but we have gone back to bad habits in 2016 throwing away two winnable games. There has not been much joy for me for a long time ...... 2013 and 2014 were disasters. Dropping the close ones gets you nowhere and you are always stuck. Huge game Friday, imagine what an upset win over Geelong could for this team ..... we need to win by less than a kick to get the belief back into this team.
North Melbourne win that competition. As someone has pointed out, I don't think there's any problem with some sort of ingrained mental issue with not being able to win those winnable big games. We're simply not a top side and haven't been for a long time. Wins like against Sydney and the dogs last year will always be forgotten even though they were tough games against better teams.

It has been mighty frustrating though, especially this season.

Why would anyone be calling for a staff review seven rounds into a new season? A season, mind you, that no one saw us being ahead of the ledger come round 7 going in.
Because Rucci can then put a story in saying the natives are restless ;)

Apart from the Jenkins call the OP reads like a bait up

We need midfielders not a midfield coach.
We need midfielders that can think for themselves. They continuously setup last week as though we were winning the centre clearances. They needed to move onto the defensive side of their opponent and force them back into the congestion. Was crazy to watch. Especially when we have a veteran like Thompson in there

Yes. Or alternatively we have been beaten by sides that are better than or equal to us who have the advantage of playing on their home ground.

If we had lost to the bulldogs last year on the MCG in an elimination final, I'd agree. Don't try to say that wasn't big enough either... But signs are better than they have been in years.

You have to be good enough to win big games. It's possible that we just haven't been. Likely, in fact. Why does it have to be a trend that undermines the clubs culture and direction?
It's fantastic because you simultaneously say that there's no problem because we beat the Bulldogs in an elimination final last year, and also advocate that we shouldn't expect to beat a substantially weaker bulldogs team.

Bravo. Bravo.

Did we play them at the same ground? We aren't good enough to beat them at Etihad. I said as much in my post. It wasn't that hard to follow I thought.

A review of some of our coaching staff and football management side need to be reviewed as too many been there too long with no great results to show for and sometimes to keep moving forward friendships have to be bypassed.
Our ruck coach and mid field coach are two that I see need to be looked at.
The midfield coach has coached wins in away AFL finals. Very recently. you're saying he can't coach?

You are a troll.

Wow where did that come from.
But guess what, i will still respond to say the posts about now we are advancing from where we were it is my opinion we should continue to make hard decisions to reach the ultimate and getting JJ on contract like now is by far the most important.
As previously posted it is my view that one of areas that maybe holding us back is not making changes because it is easier and of course the internal friendship side of it . Yes there is nothing to say that Mr Fagan along with Coach etc who both on surface seem to be doing great job will make these decisions .
So as a poster backing up the JJ call I nominated 2 coaches that I believe have been here long enough and in my view apart from when 2 astute head coaches come on board to assist have under performed .
Whilst did not want this a Campo bashing let me put my view in relation to your post.
Re finals last year ,yes we did beat Bulldogs on scoreboard due to their bad shooting for goal , but got absolutely smashed by Hawks and both times by their mids. And of course Worsfold was steering the ship.
Up until Phil came along virtually most posters were critical of Campo and ruck coach and at no stage has Campo been even remotely looked as a head coach even though been many opportunities .
Yes he presented well after Phils death but we need new ideas in there to keep moving forward.
No idea why maintained our ruck coach
